State you Opinion on a Marvel Event Thread

I don't know the DD and Spidey tie ins to INFERNO were cool.

In fact if i remember it was an important arc in sidey as Hobgoblin got turned into a real demon.

That took place in Spectacular SM after the ASM issue with Spider-Man and Green Goblin (Harry) taking on Hobby. Hobgoblin's defeat led him to sell his soul to the demon N'Astirh. DD fought Mephisto who disguised himself as a chick to seduce Matt.

* Cap laying down his shield when he finally realized the cost his personal war with Iron Man was exacting on the very people they were both ostensibly fighting for showed that Cap was the true hero with the winning argument
My problem with that is how many superhero battles amongst themselves or with villains have for years done property damage or put people at risk.if that was the case then none of them should be superheroes to begin with. All of sudden after all the battles with the lethal legion. He is going to look around and see the oh my god the human sufffering?!!9 that's why luthor is cool cause he uses that &^%$ to undermine supes.Maaaann! Talk about no happy ending and I thought these events were to be entertained . Which I was was till the end. CW was like to going to my high school prom with a porno chick dressed in latex and she drops you off at your doorstep with a pic of her" with wish you here" written on it ! Hahahaha

It's a question of scale. Having the occasional dust-up with the X-Men over a misunderstanding is one thing; a full-scale war with your fellow heroes over, essentially, slightly different approaches to being heroes is pretty different. Way more damage over way less of a cause. The superheroes essentially shut themselves off from the real problems to have a costly slap-fight with each other. Cap eventually recognized that; Iron Man did not.

IronGirl, yeah Heroes Reborn was an all around bad idea.

DACrowe, yeah I've abandoned the spidey books since OMD as well.

Heroes Reborn made my head ache. Seriously. Not just the off-center concept, but the ART...ugh. :P

I only the read the first part of OMD where the storyarc begins and I must say I hate Mephisto even more after that. Especially when
he showed them that they were supposed to have a kid but he took her away from them!!!

Fantastic Four Annual #3...the wedding of Reed Richards and Sue Storm...possibly Marvel's first "Event" ever?

I think it actually was....It was also in Avengers King Size around the same time. And I'm not sure but that may have been from a more Avengers angle.

here is the book i was talking about...strange, I know think it had reed and sue yet it was from 67 and says "not a reprint." Maybe I am wrong, i swear that book had Reed and Sue stuff in it, maybe I'm mixing it up.

Yeah it was definitely from '67, two years AFTER FF annual #3:

Note the difference in Wanda's tiara on each cover...can't be from around the same time.

Since we kind of came to stop in conversation, I'm putting up a new topic.

Avengers vs. X-Men!
What are your opinions? Speculations? Questions, comments, violent reactions? (such as blowing a hole through a helicarrier?) More importantly--

WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON?
