Horror Stephen King's 'Salem's Lot

Loved him in Bad Times at the El Royale. Jake would’ve been great, but I think we all knew that was a pipe dream of the casting department.

I’m not complaining.

Glad to see this is finally getting made. I really liked Gary Dauberman's work on Annabelle Comes Home. It's a better Conjuring movie than The Conjuring 3!

I seem to recall a report a few weeks back that filming begins in September? If so, the supporting cast announcements can’t be far off…

Great casting, I gotta say. Surprised they went with a lesser known actor but he's got the sensibility of a Stephen King character and Ben. I can see it.

I was watching the Tobe Hooper film and Jesus Christ... that movie was goddamn boring. I couldn't finish it. Rather faithful to the book, but too faithful where it's too long

There are aspects of the Hooper adaptation that I like, but yeah, as a whole, it isn’t entirely successful IMO.

Camp as Father Callahan? If so, that's some great casting!

EDIT: Nevermind, he's not Callahan.
This is how I felt when I saw Spencer Treat Clark and assumed he would be Jimmy Cody.

I pray Cody is a part of this, 1) for how he meets his end, and 2) because of how the Hooper adaptation whittled Ben’s group down to basically just him and Susan.

Oh, yeah, talk about a left turn with what happened to him. :funny:

Oh no, they’re gonna **** that poor old woman up.

Sadler's a great actor. Not what I expected for Callahan if so, but damn inspired.

That's Sadler's fourth King movie now (granted 3 of those are Frank Darabont!)

Mad Max Spinoff ‘Furiosa’ Debuting Memorial Day Weekend 2024; ‘Salem’s Lot’ Fall 2022 – Deadline

Meanwhile New Line’s Stephen King adaptation Salem’s Lot will open in the post Labor Day frame of Sept. 9, 2022 next year. That has been a rich period at the box office for Warner Bros and New Line horror fare, however, this year with James Wan’s Malignant on HBO Max, and up against Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings‘ second weekend, that genre movie isn’t looking so strong.

Screen Time: B-Man’s 140 Tavern scores roles in 'Dexter,' 'Salem's Lot' in Salem

To B-Man or not to B-Man, that is the question.

Not only is B-Man’s 140 Tavern at 344 Redemption Rock Trail (Route 140) in Sterling being featured as Dell’s, a roadside bar in Jerusalem’s Lot, Maine, aka “Salem’s Lot,” in the latest film treatment of Stephen King’s vampire epic “Salem’s Lot,” it also serves as “The Crystal Bar,” a local hangout for incognito serial killer with a conscience Dexter Morgan (aka Michael C. Hall) in Showtime’s “Dexter: New Blood.”

Last week, crews filmed scenes for “Salem’s Lot” at the popular watering hole.

“Out near the town line … there was Dell's, where a rock 'n' roll band played on Fridays and a c/w combo played on Saturdays,” wrote King in his novel. “For most of the down-home cowboys and their girlfriends, it was the place to go and have a beer or a fight,”

I can’t believe they still haven’t announced Barlow and Straker. Or if Sadler is Callahan for that matter…

He’s got a good creepy vibe to him, at least on GOT. I’m into it.

For some reason I always picture Carel Struycken as Straker, and I’m not sure why.
