Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

Who here saw last night's episode?

I love the bit with Danny, Matt and the phone. "There it is!"

This show isn't as good as SportsNight, but it's still good.

Can anyone explain to me what John Goodman was going on about? I get that Thingie's Brother builds stuff quickly in War Zone situations, but how does that explain his speeding?

He was speeding so he could make it to see his brother before he shipped off.

Is his brother dead? Because I don't remember his parents saying that when they came to visit.

He's not dead, but he probably will be as the mortality rate for people with his job who've had multiple tours is very very high.

I like the british girl... british accents on chicks are hot...

and the episode was good... i don't wanna see it go down the toilet...

Do you mean in terms of quality, or staying on the air? Because Studio 60 has been signed for 22 episodes (a full season)

Really? Ity's been signed for a full season? I heard NBC was gonna pull the plug...

YIPEE!!!

Yep. It was confirmed by the trades a while ago, and Hugley re-affirmed it last night.

This christmas episode has got to be my favorite. Really funny.

yeah, i saw it yesterday, it's fantastic

great moment(s) towards the end too, keep watching

Ed Asner is my new hero. I hope we get to see them kick the FCC's ass in later episodes.
The Dateline Santa sketch was actually funny, too bad the fake audience made less.

I love this show...

I actually cried... it was pretty sweet...

Danny's declaration to Jordan was one of my favorite TV moments of the entire season.

And Mark McKinney NEEDS to be a regular cast member!

it was perfect! his speech, and the expression on her face / sandwich in her mouth. i also loved how he reacted when he realized he was falling for her.

and yeah, mckinney was a great addition to the cast. he's so very, very dry.

I liked the plot last night for Jack with the FCC. The FCC is really just a bunch of pu**y whistle-blowing conservatives. In short, the FCC sucks.

I am so glad there is a thread for it here. I Love this show, and I enjoy how the themes are more intellectual than your normal nightime Dramas.

What's really impressed me so far is how they're handling Harriet's religion and how they haven't shuffled her off or had her ever crumble with her convictions. They've painted heer as a strong woman who knows what she believes, while also playing with her being diplomatic about it.

I was blown away by the "dateline Santa sketch." For the longest time S60 has been criticized for being a better drama than a comedy, and here we have proof that Sorkin and his writing compodres "brings the funny."

Easily the best "Show within the show" moment thus far.

I do think they should get someone to write the sketches for the show within the show. Sorkin is a funny writer, but not in a sketch comedy kind of way. Also, there are two types of episodes I'd like to see: One following, from start to finish, the making of an episode of Studio 60, and one simply being an episode of the sketch show.

Danny loves Jordan,Danny loves Jordan,Danny loves Jordan,Danny loves Jordan, Danny loves Jordan...haha

Love this show. Love the fast past dialoge.

i agree with you there, but matt albie's the way he is because he's based on sorkin, who doesn't like to give up the writing reins too much.
