Aaron Sorkin's The Newsroom on HBO

I hope that Sorkin has a way to make this all right in 50 minutes. Pruitt and his band of merry ****heads need to be dealt with and ACN needs to be taken from their grasp somehow. I didn't watch this show to see it end with ACN owned by that ****head.

Didn't like the Charlie stuff.
Not because I'm sad or anything. Mainly because I didn't believe it for a second, and it wasn't earned. Last episode he was ready to ring the guy's neck, but in this very next episode he's his manic lap dog. I get that time has passed and Charlie made clear he didn't want to fight anymore. But there is not fighting and there is losing your ****ing mind. Charlie was psychotic. Why? He gains nothing by behaving that way, and Sorkin didn't bother to establish any leverage that Pruitt might have over Charlie that would cause him to act this way. Charlie wouldn't act that way if he was truly tired of fighting. He'd just tell Pruitt to go to hell and quit or wait until he was fired. And the excuse "Well, he was sticking around for the team" doesn't work because he clearly wasn't doing stuff for the team anymore. He was just trying to keep his new boss happy. So Charlie's behavior just looks like nonsense created by Sorkin so he can have a heart attack happen. Even ****ing Newsroom can't have a final season without killing a major character. This isn't GOT. Not every final season needs a "shocking" death.

Bloody hell... He actually did it?

Really not sure what Sorkin is going to be leaving the place in by the end of the season... And I quite like that.

The rape follow up storyline is really good. Some of it mirrors some of my own thoughts. But I wasnt really a fan of everything else

-The Will stuff was pretty interesting[BLACKOUT]But I thought the twist was silly and cheap[/BLACKOUT]
-And then [BLACKOUT]Charlie's death just seemed like a cheap way to add drama[/BLACKOUT]

Season is still 4/5 so far this season though

I was wondering was Dev Patel shooting Chappie while this season was also shooting or did they just decide to leave his character out mostly

I've seen people flipping out about the rape plot line in this episode.

I thought this was another strong episode.

The way they handled the rape subplot was so beyond gross.

What was bad about it handled?

I liked how they brought up how girls are told what not to do, wear, etc. instead of focusing on the men and their wrongdoings.

Also I liked how they brought up how some women use rape accusations for attention/revenge. Ive seen it happen

I felt the rape subplot was fitting especially with everything going on with the Rolling Stone article.

Is it wrong that I am depressed that I will never see another new episode of this show? What a great finale. This show was solid from beginning to end. :(

Sorkin's the one who ended it so its up to him and it's not looking likely. That was a good ending. I was worried all of it was going to be a flashback. I loved the last minute or so.

It was a decent and fitting enough ending. I thought all the flashback stuff was rather pointless. I liked Jim and Maggie's last scene the best.

What a borefest...

Sad, this show was always interesting and the first 4 episodes of this year rocked.

Then last weeks dud filled with contrivances and odd things and this just hard to watch on the nose flashback convenient hammer show was terrible, and left this season a stinker.

No one gave a **** about Neil coming back...

Only good thing was Sloan getting Charlie's bowtie.

Hell, the whole story about the leak and the main plot of the season was fished and not even finished.

I didn't think Sorkin could outdid himself for boring and unnecessary like when Maggie went to Africa or wherever that was.

It was too neatly wrapped up. Everyone got everything they ever wanted. I would have preferred though that the episode end on a major 2013 news story and show them prepping for it.

I liked the jam session in the garage. :)

Yes it was. They gave the story to the AP.

But, we never saw any ramifications of the story in the world.

Unless their point was to show that no matter what bad things the US does, no one really cares because we have Kardashians and **** to pay attention to.

I really disliked the ending personally. I felt the characters were all rather cavalier about Charlie's death, which just seemed out of character for many of them.

Pretty much every character got what they wanted, and the other stories just kind of... stopped.

Very disappointing ending to a good show.

Ugh that was the worst! Ha ha. When will picked up the guitar I was like "no no no don't do what I think yer about to do!" And then Jim walked up and I was like "nooooooooo" and it got worse! And the dude drumming on the box with the kid, ugh!

I dont get why people complain about the ending being "too neat" or that everything wrapped up too nicely.
Why are we now so focused on getting bad endings.

Anyway, I thought the resolutions were fine but the ep itself was kinda boring. As someone said earlier they shouldve started to follow/cover a story.

I agree with Motown, that jam session was eye rolling bad.

Probably my least favorite episode of the show.

It was more about how 2 of their guys went down over it. Not the actual story itself.

Hee Hee. Guess I just liked the song and the comeraderie. :)

Sometimes I wonder if Aaron Sorkin has ever read any other book besides Don Quixote.

I loved the show but I'm torn on the finale. It felt just odd that we suddenly had an episode that was out of nowhere tied back to the very start of the show.

And yeah the song was bad, I wouldnt mind if it started then cut or if it was an extra on the dvd but it did not work within the episode at all. And I agree that Charlie's death just felt brushed off.
