The number of 'stupid co-incidences' in SPidey 3 has become a big talking point - but superhero cinema is full of them.

Superman Returns

Lois needs rescuing constantly by Superman. He disappears for years, wherein she doesn't change her career, and does not need rescuing by Supreman once. Superman returns, and immedietly has to save Lois repeatedly over the next few days.

Superman II

- The Phantom Zone just so happens to be in exactly the right place in the universe when Superman throws the bomb/missile into space
- Zod and co believe Earth is called Houston, and happen to land in Houston
- The supervillains are flying around the country destroying things, but Lex happens to find them in the White House.

Batman Begins

- Bruce Wayne happens to be a prison near the hideout of the League of Shadows, who are responsible for the deaths of his parents and are planning to destroy Gotham

Spider-Man 3

-Harry´s butler knowing the truth about the death of Harry´s dad but waiting till the end to tell Harry about it

Superman 2- They think it's called houston because they land there, not vice versa.

Batman Begins- I'm sure the league of shadows has bases hidden all over the place :o

Well, that is true about the plane he has to save, but the bigger coincidence, which leads to the other rescue, is that he just so happened to return at the exact same time as Lex Luthor.

They're superhero movies, every freakin factor is a coincidence.

The meteor with the symboite (sp?) in Spider-Man 3 was a huge coincidence :o

Actually they think it's called Houston because they first arrive at the moon while some astronauts are there and the astronauts transmit back to base something along the lines of Houston, we have a problem.

You're right, it's not Houston, it's somewhere in Idaho. Okay, it's a co-incidence that they happen to land in the same country Superman landed in. And that Lex happens to go to the Fortress of Solitude and find out about the criminals at the exact time they happen to arrive on earth!

America is pretty big, so they have a pretty good chance of landing there (they werent going to land in water of course). And yeah, the Lex thing was not only a coincidence, but also pretty stupid.

Actually, they think it's Houston because the astronaut was calling for Houston. Makes perfect sense. And they didn't land in Houston, either...but somewhere in middle America.

Lex finds the villains in the White House because he knew they were staying there. Also makes perfect sense.

Other points I will give you.

There's no such thing as coincidences in these realities, only the illusion of coincidence.

That was after they'd overturned the U.S. government and were running everything.

Even if they had as many outlets as Starbucks, it would still be a co-incidence.

I guess. But then, it's fairly coincidental that Ra's found Bruce in the first place. Odds are, Ra's figured out that Bruce was nearby and, knowing of his backstory, tracked him down.

They don't even land on Houston. They land on the Moon, where they hear an astronaut say Houston.
And I just said what everyone else said.

I can't believe no one mentioned the symbiotie astroid landing right next to Peter Parker. That was both lazy and stupid.

Yeah, but the chances of both Kal-El and the villains landing in North America, of anywhere on the entire planet...? Sure America is big, so are all the continents.

It seems to be around a one in four chancew of them landing in North America. Not that tiny.

I thought that was pretty stupid too.
In X-men 2, Magneto and Mystique happen to be strolling through the same forest as the one Jean and Storm are flying over.

Yeah, and then double that for Kal-El landing in the same place.

Ah. Now, that is a coincidence. It would have made more sense if the mechanism for getting in and out of the Zone had been in the Fortress of Solitude, that would have made more sense.
