probably not... who knows... it may be CM3 by the time all is said and done...

Everytime I see Captain Marvel Junior called CM3 it just reminds me of how much modern comics truly suck ass.

SHut up man.

It's the damn truth.

Sorry, but I don't kiss ass.

His question for Meltzer was great though, because his JLA will truly be horrid. He's just a bad, bad writer.

i kinda thought the CM3 thing wasnt so bad... since he cant say his own name without reverting to freddy

I've probably read comics longer than you've been alive. I read them because I love the characters. They piss me off because of how they mistreat the characters or how they disregard what the characters were created to be.

I don't expect most people to agree with my views about comics, which are admittedly very radical. I just express 'em and move on.

The problem I have with it is that it's elitist. It basically says that "Captain Marvel Junior" sounds too comic-booky, so they replace it with the cool name of CM3.

It's like when the "brain trust" at DC changed the Legion members names from stuff like "Lightning Lad" to "Live Wire". Their reasoning? "Lightning Lad" sounds too much like a Legionarre. Well, DUH!

I realize that to most current readers and comics professionals that tradition sucks, but I still believe that characters should be as close to what their creators intended for them to be as possible.

I can't speak for everyone, but I've used CM3 strictly to abbreviate. It has nothing to do with being an elitist and everything to do with laziness.

Or maybe somebody figured it would be logical for Freddy to come up with a name that still represented his roots, but that he could actually say? Besides, he was referred to as CM3 before that anyway. I'm right with you on the Legion names, but with Freddy it actually makes sense. You're seeing something that isn't there.

same here... but ill agree with you as far as everyone around freddy calling him CM3... thats stupid... if he has to reffer to himself or speak his own name for some reason i have no problem with it... bet if everyone calls him that it just sucks...

Then why couldn't he call himself CM Junior? Or Cap Junior?

I always called him Jr to abbreviate. Cap, Junior and Mary. It only worked for 50 f'n years.

If DC was in charge of the world we'd be driving around on triangle shaped wheels.

writers prefferance i guess??
if marvel ran the world joe quesada would make us all use triangle wheels because back in the day the circle wheels raped the square wheels then the oval wheels got new powers and dumped the octogon wheels before teaming up with the rectangle wheels and revealing to the world that it was indeed the square wheel all along in disguise

Oh, don't get me wrong-except for Captain America, She-hulk and The thing (which they just cancelled), I'm no crazier about Marvel's current direction than I am DC's.

I haven't really liked either if the big 2 since the late 80's or so. Or since COIE in DC's case.

The only one of the names you listed that would work is Junior. No self respecting person calls himself Cap Junior, and CM Junior doesn't flow at all. CM3 is perfectly reasonable and logical. Really, there isn't anything you can't whine about is there?

Kiss ass.

I really want Sand on either the JLA or JSA. He's too underutilized and he's got a kickass power with tons of potential. I'm really hoping we'll see at least a couple of first timers on the JLA this time around.

I think he should be in the JSA.

It seems like they've forgotten about him as of late.

Did I just miss an entire conversation?

Just because I'm not a guy that hasn't been enjoying comics for the last twenty years (and really, how crazy is that!?) doesn't mean I kiss ass. There's enough I don't like, but Captain Marvel Jr. being called CM3 isn't a part of that.

The JSA did seem to forget about a lot of its characters along the way. I hope Johns rectifies that in the new series.

I probably shouldn't have put it that way. It's just I question everything they do and I hate change for the sake of change, which is what I feel the CM3 crap is.

Yeah, that was weird. Levitz just totally left him and Hourman out of the last arc.
