...in one sentence.

Here's my attempt;

The outer shell of an incredibly powerful hero containing an incredibly vulnerable man.

To further that, Iron Man is perhaps the definitive Marvel hero; Marvel do superheroes with super problems. Iron Man is one of the most powerful, but is an extremely flawed human being whose problems make Peter Parker's life look easy.

A man who decided to become something greater, he became a hero using the resources in his reach.

I think for this movie to connect with audiences, they need to sell Tony Stark's vulnerability and how the armor is the only thing keeping him alive. He's basically an invalid and a handicapped guy, who can only live because of a machine.

I thought Moon Knight was Marvel's Batman?

Marvel's Batman that the mainstream public has probably (hopefully) heard of.

I find the Punisher and Daredevil as well are much closer to Batman, especially in their motivations.

Bingo!!!

I don't know if that will be appealing to most people, but hey, it's worth a shot.

I'm all for watching a well made film, regardless of who the character may be. Just entertain me, don't insult my intelligence, and we're good.

How about two sentences?

Tony Stark makes you feel
He's a cool exec
With a heart of steel.
As Iron Man, all jets ablaze,
He fights and smite'n
With repulsor rays!

Well, I'm not really into Tony Stark (though I thought it was EXTREMELY COOL how he turned the tables on Black Widow in the Ultimates - "You don't become a billionaire by being stupid!" - actually it does conect to what I like so much about IM) But Iron Man is the techno-gadget geeks wetdream! You look at the "newest" gadgets they always show in mags like maxim and Cargo and others. Men like myself eat this stuff up! And IM has the ULTIMATE techno-toys! Don't get me wrong, I want a great story for the movie, but that's what attracts me MOST about Iron Man!

I think the problem with some superhero movies is that it is a feeling of ""oh, poor me...look at my situation."

Why cna't there be a movie about just a normal person, with a somewhat nomal life, who decides to do something to make life better.

I can understand that these set the basis of the creation of the superhero, but it would be nice, wouldn't it.

Iron Man is going to be played the same way, but if it's done right, I will go see it, just like I have every comicbook movie that has come out.

A drunk with billions of dollars. What can go wrong?

That should totally be the "slogan" of the movie.

I just don't think Iron Man has a mainstream appeal.

civil war is also not helping Iron man out, alot of Marvel comic fans hate him these days.

Why would they hate a fictional character who's had more than 4 decades of comic books written about him just because the current writers want to use him the way they do for Civil War?

Because they made him a huge dick in Civil War.

Wow, IM's opening some whoop-ass on Cap'n A. I don't keep up too well with the current comics and I doubt most or the general public will factor this(Civil War) into whether they like Iron Man or not.
