Do you want it in the same verse as Arrow/Flash? Any more news of it even being a possibility?

There is going to be such a visual difference. Who would show up in who's universe? CW has a very distinct visual feel to it, and it stands out when watching the Supergirl trailer how different with cinematography.

I'm not sure how it would work, especially since Superman is an established figure in Supergirl's world. Metahumans are something totally new in the world of Arrow/Flash. The particle accelerator explosion changed everything. Flash seems to be the first of his kind that the public knows of. Unless Supergirl is set 5 years in the future, I don't see how we get around that.

I think it's pretty clear from the "My name is Kara-Zor El..."

I could head canon that Superman was an established presence, but was the only superpowered person, ie, like his 40s career in the comics, fighting bank robbers and corruption. The Flash is major because he is the second (showing that powers are a trend) and that there are other people with powers.

^ Arrow and Flash are the only shows currently out there that use that particular combination of words and phrasing, though.

"Our name's are Sam and Dean Winchester..."
"My name is Phil Coulson..."
"My name is Gregory House..."

Are these not the only shows that use that device?

I've never watched Supernatural, AoS, or House, so I wouldn't know.

Anyway, there should really be no debate as to whether the series share a universe, since it was confirmed (as per that Entertainment Weekly article I linked to) that they do.

"My name is Peggy Carter..." That one's real.

There is no way I'm going to buy Superman being active during Arrow and Flash.

They would have to explain it through some alternate universe/time travel shenanigans. Given the existence of Flash and Rip Hunter in this universe, that's not out of the question.

Their was a recent episode of "Arrow" that showed a meta-villain who did NOT get his powers from the particle accelerator.

Supergirl could take in Arrow, Flash, and DC Legends' future than their present.

I'd be fine either way.

I dont think there's any plot problems big enough for it to not happen,

but at the same I really dont care much for having a shared universe between these tv shows. I dont think it does much for Flash/Arrow either.

If they have to do crossovers, I prefer the "alternate universe" version. I just can't buy Superman was an established figure in both Arrow and The Flash, when an experienced soldier like Diggle had problems to believe about the strengh of the Mirakuru soldiers last year (and was left astonished by Barry in this year's crossover).

Given that The Flash actually works with things like time travel and alternate dimensions already (I think the particle acceleration was said to have stumbled into one in the Pilot), it would feel much more natural to me.

I would be inclined to believe that if Superman existed in the Flash/Arrow universe, it would have been mentioned at least once by now. I think the show-runners are content keeping th properties completely separate.

If Green Lantern is not going to be used in Flash, Arrow, or DC Legends, they could put him in Supergirl.

As they have said they will concentrate on just Supergirl for now then it makes sense that all we would get from season one would be possible hints or easter eggs, that's if we get anything at all apart from the Superman mentions.

It pretty much comes down to how well the season goes and if it needs an earlier than expected boost for ratings. If it gets good ratings and the storylines are also good then we may not see any cross for a while. This then poses the question of how good Arrow or Flash will still be in a year or two's time before they even do a crossover with Supergirl. Arrow would be on season 4 or 5 by then wouldn't it?

I'm thinking they need to start a crossover story arc early in season 2 of Supergirl (unless they bring it sooner due to ratings?) to then peak in the finales of the shows.

Lets just hope all the shows do well going forward.

I still want to see a 16/17 year old Kara in the DC film universe though, and after Warners DC see a young Peter Parker in the Marvel world they might go with a young college age Kara?

"My name is Phil Coulson. Five years ago I was killed. [Archive Footage of Loki stab] but SHIELD, the Strategic Homeland blah-blah-blah rebuilt me. [T.A.H.I.T.I. and screaming]. Now, as the new Director SHIELD, I fight the world's most invisible enemies [montage of SHIELD agents doing stuff] and train my protoge Skye, even with her mysterious past. [Skye uses quake powers] But Skye has become someone else... she's become something else."

"My name is Gregory House. Everyone lies. It's never Lupus. You're all idiots. There, I saved you 44 minutes. [Shoots Vicodin]"

"My name is Michael Weston, I used to be a spy..."

"I'm Federal Agent Jack Bauer and today is the longest day of mife."

"Hi, I'm Chuck!"

:funny: There are literally dozens of shows that use this exact device.
