CBS announced today that Grant Gustin’s Flash will be making his way to National City and crossing over into an episode of Supergirl very soon. Details of what the crossover will entail are yet to be revealed, but the episode is set to air on Monday, March 28th.

“We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making Supergirl—The Flash and Supergirl are teaming up!,” said The Flash and Supergirl Executive Producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg. “We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.”

Sort of cool that they're doing this, after they originally said it was never going to happen. Part of me wonders if this is being done to try to help Supergirl out ratings wise by bringing over fans of the CW-verse?

It was never actually said that crossovers would never happen. What was actually said, albeit with different wording from the various people who were asked about the possibility, is that there were no active plans to do crossovers at the time the questions about doing crossovers were asked.

I figured crossovers were inevitable, but didn't expect them to happen this year/season.

Glad they're doing this to coincide with the release of Batman V Superman.

Can't do it without a super-speed race and I look forward to see how Flash looks on a big budget.

This is similar to Constantine's appearance on Arrow.

Can you imagine Supergirl, Flash, and Martian Manhunter together?

Both Flash and Supergirl died on Crisis On Infinite Earths. Think they'll show the Anti-Monitor?

I hope this crossover will be two hours.

The difference of course being that Constantine the Series exists in the "Flarrow"-verse proper whereas Supergirl the Series exists in a different part of the "Multiverse" set up by The Flash Season 2.

I really really really. Hold on before I say it let me explain. Arrow has been compared to Batman time and time again. He's a great character. But he is similar to Batman in certainways. Supergirl i a female with Superman powers. Would it not be absolutely fantastic if they did a TV Budget version of BvS with Arrow fighting Supergirl? I mean, it probably wont happen. But it makes my fanfiction so much more believable.

And like imagine all the heroes in the DCTVU forming a team against some army. Like at the very end of it all a big crossover or something against some near unstoppable villainous force that requires them all. Martian Manhunter, Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, Atom, etc. Just think about that. OMG. My life would be over.

The reason this is only involving The Flash is because he's currently the only "Flarrow"-verse hero with the means to cross dimensions.

If Supergirl ends up becoming available to appear on "The Flash" and "Arrow" in the future (since I think the current deal only allows the Flash to appear on Supergirl's show) then I feel like they could really go for a major "Infinite Crises" story arc.

I mean just look at all of the heroes that we currently have at our disposal in this DC-TV Universe.

There's no indication of the crossover going both ways. I think that's fine, but it could also be a bit jarring. I don't need Melissa Benoist to appear on Flash, but it would be nice if they set it up somewhat - a final scene where Barry goes through a portal and appears in National City seeing Supergirl posters, etc., would be fine. Then it can say "To be continued in Supergirl."

^ Such an explanation wouldn't have worked given what's been established via both Supergirl and the "Flarrow"-verse shows.

SG's Earth is not and has never been the Earth-1 of the "Flarrow"-verse, so the only way crossovers are possible is via the Multiverse concept as established on The Flash.

They really should do Crisis on Infinite Earths next season. They could set it up as a four show, week long event with Supergirl Monday, Flash Tuesday, Arrow Wednesday, and Legends Thursday.

This is not the worst of ideas, but it should be planned and written before Arrow season 5 starts (going with Arrow because it came first). I mean if you're going to have an event like this the story arc has to be on point. This would be a 2hr 40 minute movie. The people and resources need to be there or don't even bother.

Superman has been around for years, fighting other superpowered beings, while superpowers were considered impossible before the particle accelerator incident in the CWverse, that's why Superman has never been mentioned before, is not the same Earth. To avoid a dumb and unnecessary retcon, Barry travelling thru a portal to Kara's Earth would be the solution.

Maybe some of the breaches link to places other than Earth 2? Though something linking their Earth's could happen on Supergirl rather than on Flash.

I wish the Super(s) could co-exist in the Arrowflash-verse. But, I know it will be another Earth multiverse deal.

I would be content with the Arrowverse acknowledging Superman in their world. Even if we never see him.
