Superman and Wonder Woman?

Yes! Awesome. (And) THANK YOU!

One of the only things that kept me hopeful about the dreaded reboot was Superman and WW become a permanent item.

So much potential here. It just seems SO damn right for them to be together.

Well another reason for me to never get into comic books.

boo. supes belongs to lois and wondy belongs with bats. that's why he bags so many chicks. none of them measure up to diana.

I've been liking the Wonder Woman/Steve Trevor relationship ever since the New 52 started. Probably the only time I've ever been interested in Steve Trevor outside of him being treated as a joke.

Batman should just stick to Catwoman and Talia.

Personally I always wanted Bruce Wayne to hook up with Black Canary.....why not??

She's not a criminal like Talia or Selina.....

She's almost on par with him in combat skills......She has the Birds of Prey connection.

Tired of the Oliver Queen thing.

One thing I've always hated about DC was how cemented they were in romantic ties.

Hawkman had to always be with Sheira

GL always had to be with Carrol Farris

Ollie with Dinah

At Marvel they mix it up!

Wonder Woman and Bruce?? That little flurtation never lasted long enough to matter. Superman and Diana at least embraced as friends....and were very close.

I'm glad it's gonna be a real one this time!

Whenever Marvel tries to mix it up, it sucks. Peter Parker and Carlie Cooper, Ben Grimm and Debbie Green, Johnny Storm and Alicia Masters, Storm and Black Panther, Hawkeye and Spider-Woman, the list goes on.

Sometimes certain couples should just stay that way. Don't fix what ain't broken like Superman and Lois Lane, Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris, Barry Allen and Iris West, and so on. Batman and Black Canary sounds god awful.

Yeah canary and bruce sound stupid.

LOL!

Awww Come on Hipster....you know you can picture a scene in the Batcave with Bruce and Dinah sparring (in their karate togs) with a little hand-to-hand! They're going at it something fierce.....and then Dinah drops Bruce to the mat and jumps on top of him......and then......well......you know. :whatever: They have tea....LOL

Marvel's mixing doesn't always suck.....what the heck is a Debbie Green? Carlie Cooper?? "Yawn!"

I'm talking hero couples...How about Ben and She Hulk?? Spidey and Spider Woman??? Johnny Storm and Ms. Marvel???

Make is interesting .......

Why couldn't Hawkman get with Starfire??

Let's be brutally honest, here. The reason why Superman and Wonder Woman have been constantly ship-teased in virtually every Elseworld story and DC fan fic for years was primarily just to see two of DC's primer and iconic superheroes have sex, some stories being more blatant that others. And with this move, DC is appealing towards that same titillation, by promising that Superman and Wonder Woman are going to be getting it on "for real" this time. And I can almost guarantee that once that happens and the initial curiosity of such a pairing is satisfied, this relationship is going to get really old, REALLY fast. Not to mention it's going to potentially damage both characters (and it Wonder Woman's case, it's happening already). Just like any time you pair-up two different superheroes who are not exclusively part of a team-up book. To quote Stan Lee, "Never give the audience what they think they want."

We haven't seen them have sex in every story.....In Frank Millers DKR yes....But in Kingdom Come and others, the relationship is done well.

It just makes sense....

I was just about to mention the Frank Miller scenes but you already brought them up. Thanks.

Debbie Green was Ben's fiance during Mark Millar's run despite the fact that he hooked back up with Alicia Masters during Dan Slott's run on the Thing. Ben ended the relationship once he realized that superheroes getting married to normal people was a bad idea. She was never seen from or heard from again.

And Carlie Cooper is quite possibly the worst creation ever created in the history of everything ever created. I ****ing hate her. I hate with all my hate. I hate her so much that even my hate has hate for her.

Those are all horrible. Ben is firmly committed to Alicia and She-Hulk is too skanky for a nice guy like Ben. Spider-Man should have never ended his marriage to Mary Jane. And Johnny Storm is too skanky for a nice girl like Carol.

LOL!!
You wound me!

Spidey should have stayed with MJ.....BUT since he's free.....How about Mockingbird or Spiderwowan???

Those both are good!

Doc Samson and She-Hulk, then??

Oh, I agree that it hasn't been nearly as explicit in some stories compared to others. In fact, I think a case can be made that when Frank Miller did it in DK2, it was slamming those who say Superman and Wonder Woman would make the perfect couple, essentially telling the readers "All you people who ship these two characters--THIS is what you guys are really asking for."

I would also agree that Kingdom Come handled their pairing well, too. However, there's two points about Superman and Wonder Woman becoming a couple in that story--and most other Elseworld stories--that's absolutely crucial: 1. Lois Lane, who still gets depicted as the love of Superman's life, is dead, and 2. The story being told is essentially the "last chapter" of the DC Universe and those characters. Neither is the case for DC pairing up Superman and Wonder Woman now.

I see your point.......

But the cruxt of the New 52 is shaking up the status quo...right??

NOTHING is more status quo than Lois and Clark.....nothing.

They even turned Alan Scott into a homosexual.....and now have revealed the new GL to be an Arab.

So I get the feeling that nothing is sacred anymore at DC. It's all up for grabs....

That's why I wanna see Batman and Black Canary.

Anyone remember when The Canary had the hots for Dr. Midnite in the last universe (the good one).:woot:

LOL!

Look....at least the Bat and Canary idea has been toyed in the past.....even in the 70's and 80's, as those clips showed.....

Alan Scott was never ever ever never been gay.

So, I'm with the semi- in crowd! :woot:

I agree that taking Alan Scott, a character who was originally straight and making him gay comes off as more of a dumb publicity stunt than truly being progressive (you want to be progressive you create new characters who are gay so that it's a natural part of who that character is), but I have no real feeling towards Batman and Black Canary.

I'm fine with Superman and Wonder Woman giving it a go so long as the execution works. I don't expect the pairing to last long due to how cemented his relationship with Lois is in the public eye but done right Supes & WW could be a fun lark.
