Superman Returns Superman Returns novel (excerpt link inside)

The book sounds good, I don't know if I will be able to keep away from it before I see the movie.

 Sweet, I love that! It reminds me of the classic world of krypton miniseries back in the early 80s. Thank God, the film lines up more with the silver age and not with the terrible 'Byrneman' version!

Loved the excerpt, wish it was in the movie.

Just thought I'd start a new thread since we have an official excerpt now - from the publisher's site. Now that I've read the excerpt, not buying and reading the novel before the movie comes out is going to be difficult.

Possible clues (discovered by other members): 5% scientific data missing & Lara specific thought of Kal-El's child.

Wow thanks for the link Tzigone

It'd be great if we got to see some flashbacks. Missing 5% of scientific data is a LOT of data. I don't even want to imagine how much information the crystal can hold, so I'm assuming this will play a part in the new movie. Knowledge is power, and if Kal-el is missing information that could help him, it could be disastrous.

I guess the fortress security system was in that 5%. :)

Indeed. :D

The science of keeping people out of your home . . . so complex!! That always bothered me, but who would be dumb enough to trespass the FOS?

Security system=no Lex=no SR.

So I'll let it slide. This time.

But Kal-El had better learn his lesson! The son of Kryptons best and brightest should be able to figure that out at least. :)

Marv Wolfman is still a freaking genius. Amazing. I hope that at least some of that stuff will be covered in the comics accompanying the film. Great stuff.

And the missing 5% could contribute to Lex having inadequate information or possibly to Clark thinking the trip will take less time than it really takes.

5 * 28 / 100 = 1.4 galaxies worth of missing data!
Enough for MANY sequels ;)

Marv will be at the Superman Festival I'm planning to go to at the beginning of June.....maybe he'll be selling autographed copies there.

Indeed but he had the benefit of the doubt at my local Waterstones, where he said he purchased it..................then later only saw it.

He can't even get his story straight, let alone his proof.

He lost his credibility yesterday with his blatant lies about a book in a shop that never existed and was proved by me visiting that shop and asking to buy one, to be told it was not released.

He's talking about me, not gamemeister.
