Anyways it is likely that the 2h51 will be kept for the dvd as that is too long for the movies. Don't forget that that type of length means less showing at the theaters which means less revenues.

Of course, taking what I said to an extreme you could then say a 1h30 movie should do better then a 2h15 movie, however there is a trade off and an equilibrium to be reached.

If it's good, quality entertainment, I don't see why 2 hours and 51 minutes are a problem. . . The more the merrier.

That's a big if. Just look at how bad the pacing was in X2 and how the story dragged on for the entire 2 hours 13 minutes and that was a sequel.

Well it's a trailer. It's not going to include just one aspect of the film no matter how encompassing it is. Singer didn't conjure the love triangle, the kid, etc. just to make the film longer. It's obviously going to be at the core of the film and he's banking all his marbles on it. People's reaction to it will make or break this movie. Action willl be a low priority as usual without the introduction of a supervillian.

What difference would a supervillain have made? You've already established that in your eyes Singer doesn't know how to do action......Or make with what he's got in the budget....Or make movies that don't look like Sci-Fi channel flicks etc.

Maybe have Superman and a Supervillain push each other for an hour till one breaks down and cries? Because according to you, that's what we'll get with a Supervillain in a Singer film anyway, right?

I just used Singer's decision not to use a supervillian in the film as an example that the action will be a low priority.

Box office doesn't equal quality. People should know by now that's the biggest no brainer in movies.
