SV Premieres/Finales always get high ratings. Solitude wasn't the highest rated episode this season even with the SR teaser.

I mean hell the way I see it if Braniac had waited a few more Seconds (Clark was standing right there waiting for Zod with him) Had Braniac waited Zod would have been freed then itd be Zod & Braniac VS Clark with Chloe arriving to late. The stupidity of Braniac before that fight ruined it for me. I hope the re match is better

Poseidon isn't the smarter move because Buzz is damn near nonexistent. MI3 kicks off the Summer Movie Season. So think of it this way--the first thing a lot of people are going to see before the first big movie of Summer unspools is a reminder that SUPERMAN RETURNS is coming out in 2 months. Mission Impossible 3 is probably going to make 50 mil opening weekend. Nice big opening. Could possibly make more, and it's getting great reviews. Warners or not, putting Superman Returns in front of that is going to increase buzz tenfold.

And whether Smallville is the finale or not doesn't make that much difference. The audience doesn't increase THAT MUCH for it to be that big a deal. You wait til week after next and you're stuck with "Poseidon" as the movie and the ratings go up maybe an extra 500,000 to 1 million. Not a good tradeoff.

The trailer's done. Been done. Mission Impossible 3 is going to be really big. Smallville's ramping up to their Season Finale. Why not start May with a bang instead of waiting until the middle of the month?

Keep in mind--just because a trailer is attached to a TV show doesn't mean the TV show will become highly watched. It's just a trailer. The kind of film fans who set their VCR's for that sort of thing aren't all that many. Those fans don't need to be catered to, those tickets are already sold.

The general consensus over at BlueTights is that it'll be debuting with MI3.

That makes sense, it would be smart if WB was pulling an F4 (not saying SR will in any way emulate that film whatsoever) and putting the trailer with every big film that comes out between May 1st and June 30th.

For those saying it will be with another WB film, I'm fairly certain that none of the Batman Begins trailers debuted with WB films (or did one of them debut with Oceans 12?)

It actually means a lot - the money made is going towards the same pot, and as Fatboy said, Poseidon doesn't have much buzz..........yet. By publicizing the fact that the SR trailer will premiere with Poseidon, that could possibly put more butts in the seats.

Time will tell but I still think we will see the Trailer with most of the For Sure Big Hits this Summer. The WB will NOT limit to starting with Poseidon First. Thatd be a stupid move.

I love Superman, but I dont' think publicizing that the trailer will open in front of Poseidon will really sell all that many tickets. Sure, they'll attach it to Poseidon anyway even IF MI3 is where it premieres, but I don't think it's going to be THAT big a boost to consider withholding the trailer UNTIL Poseidon.

It'll be in front of Poseidon, yeah. but it won't DEBUT there, I don't think.
