wait when was look up in the sky 2 discs?
The Best Buy Exclusive. Also came with miniature copies of all the Superman movie posters.

The press release keeps saying fourteen discs...but I'm counting 13....

You know I had originally planned just to buy SMII:RDC and maybe the SMTM 4 Disc. But man I will gladly own SM III and IV if it means getting this box set. For $100.00 it's a bargain.

btw I watch SM III recently for the first time in probably 17 years and I thought it was terrible. I haven't seen SM IV in about the same amount of time. Is it really as bad as people say?

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not......LOL!!! but isn't 14 discs enough for you? LOL

Here's a guide on the upcoming DVD releases:

http://www.supermanhomepage.com/movies/movies.php?topic=dvd-guide

I dont know what I should buy. Should I get the R1 version that also has the blogs (with 2 we havent seen) or should I get the R2 version that doesnt contain the blogs?

Did anyone notice any other differences besides the blogs and the fact that the R2 version has Reeve on the cover and R1 Routh? I cant decide which one.

no, i wasn't being sarcastic... For a moment, I'm a little disappointed by it. I wanted to see the history of what it took to get this franchise off the ground, and that's not there.

I'm just kinda bummed, that's all.

I was really looking forward to seeing some of the unused suit designs, unused scripts, plot details, stuff like that...

and I was also hoping that we would of gotten to have seen the rare footage that were included in the Inernational cut of STM that aired in 1980.

There is a lot of material that we dont know or see yet!! the most deseptioned thing is the 4 dvds of Superman the movie!! they put the treatrical version, why we need teh treatrical version if is the same movie with some minutes less of the 2001 especial edition! and everybody have the special edition of 2001! why to post it in the box? the only 2 things that are correct is the special tv making and the restored sceenes, nothing more, there are 3 dvds with nothing new!those 3 dvds could have a lot of interesting things, more behind the scenes, photos makings, deleted scenes etc, but no, more of the same that everybody can bay anywere!those 3 dvds are a big waste!

The original cut was probably put into the collection as with any set of DVD's that have come out with a tweaked addition that was different from the original theatrical edition as it was seen in the theaters, there are purists who do letter writing campaigns that want the original release included into the next DVD box set release. Jaws 2000 DVD release jsut had a remasterd dolby stereo soundtrack using all the original tracks from its 1975 mono release. They didn't have to replace any sound effects except for maybe 1 or 2 small ones, and most of the film was exactly the same except for now it is in 5.1 stero instead of mono. But there was a big letter writing campaign by the purists and so the next DVD release of it, they included the movie in it's original mono. So in that set, you have two movies that are exactly the same except for one is mono and one is stereo.

Why don't they just release the Fleshier cartoons by themselves? Those have NOTHING to do with the Christopher Reeves films. If they HAD to bundle them with another release, it should have been with the 1940's serials.

I guess I'll be keeping my $1 Fleisher Superman DVD that I got at Wal-Mart.

I guess WB will include the Adam West series as a bonus feature on the Batman Begins 2 DVD. That makes about as much sense to me.

Be careful ordering region 1 discs over £20, customs may charge you for it. I used to order alot of series and box sets from the states but I started to get customs charges added on. The worst was when i brought a replica lightsabre i got charged a fortune.

i just pre ordered mine from Play.com for £59.99

Donner may've been involved in that decision. I remember that he wasn't going to be involved in the 2001 release if they put any of that footage in the film.

It all comes down to the Salkinds. Like most directors, Donner shot a lot of extra footage. The Salkinds put all of that stuff in the "International cut" because they wanted to pad the running time.

BTW, does anyone know where I can pre-order The Ultimate Collector's Edition?

I just preordered mine from Barnes and Noble.....so excited

I have Look Up In Sky as 2 discs. It was a Best Buy exclusive. Disc 2 contains some cheesy Singer diary videos. about 20 minutes worth. :( Very little info.

BUT heck, this is the version Im getting. The ultimate edition which includes Superman returns 2 disc set. Cant wait!!! It states Additional Sceens in Superman II so maybe that's including the souffle scene which was my favorite from the 80's tv version.

Thanks for the info.
