heres a comparison of what the suit could look like in a possible sequel,

singer could go even further with migenbachs superb colour scheme of "toned down colours", we could have this stunning colour scheme of maroon dark brown, blue and gold, exactly what superman stands for,
it would work terrific in the scheme of singers superman world,
i think this darker "tone" works terrific, mingenbach truly is a genius aint she? she knows exactly what the public wants. The public loves "dark" colours, so here we go, mingenbach colours which have been "toned" down even more for the sequel! really shows supermans colours!:supes: :supes:

just tweak the shade of blue and this black one isnt so bad ;)

The SR suit still has all the wrong proportions and simply makes Brandon look weak. It may be made of better materials, but it looks even flimsier and weaker overall. It's not the colors that is the problem. It's the design of shield, collar, boots, trunks, belt, cape...well every damn thing.

dont be mad that the colours are to dark on the suit.

be angry that singer wanted darker colours in the whole movie. the suit is bright enough.

you're right... the colors were just fine.

ugh, those panties are killin me though...

look at the official pic of superman with the DP globe. and then watch it in hte movie. in the movie it is darker.
now i dont know why it is sooo dark. maybe because in the pic it is from the set and it was a sunny day but in the movie there are clouds. but still it doesnt explain the desaturated colours.

The suit was pretty awful. It just goes to show you how even small changes can have a huge impact on how it looks. It looks more like a cheap imitation of the classic costume everyone is most familiar with.

hmm, i havent seen that before, is there a larger version of it?

the colors seem to show better under very strong lighting, its the same in the film (plane chase sequence), but it still doesnt make up for the lousy design, if anything it shows the faults more.

btw, did they actually dye Routh's hair to a lighter brown or it appears that way because of strong lighting?

in the movie it is meant to be dark brown not black.

Routh's hair is already dark brown, but in the movie under strong lighting conditions it appears light brown, which is a shame because he looks washed out.

it kinda looked like this in the movie...

At The Planet, Someone said that there's a washy blue filter to the whole movie... after seeing thje movie so many times and doing this manip, I do believe that there's a blue filter in the movie, and it just killed the entire movie.

well don't forget to blame some of the colors on all the nite scenes...apparently Superman only comes out at nite like Batman...

Really a brighter red would have been perfect in the night scenes...

Again, the colors are perfectly fine and Superman can look utterly bad-ass in dark colors.

The problem is with the suit design that elongates the torso. Notice the small effect of having higher trunks and then cutting down the collar line and letting the cape flow over shoulders forming the top part of the costume compacts the torso and makes Superman look really powerful. 1/5 of his torso is pure cape flowing over his shoulders.

I made this manip awhile back to see how the suit looks without Routh and what improvements could me made. Look how simple it is.

not the entire movie. in the plane scene it was very bright. i think that the darker colours are there because of the clouds. arent there clouds above metropolis because of new krypton?

p.s. not the whole movie

CALL SINGER NOW!!...THese are the EXACT improvements needed (and brighten the red just a bit (go with Spider-man red)...way to go Flair!!

kakarot069 said:
yeah, a lighter red would look better...
but not the suit. the whole movie needs to be brighter :)

amen to that

oh, yeah, and get rid of the kid :D
i just think that the red was bright enough. the look of the movie at teh end was maybe a little to desaturated.

HA! He wrote "the"! ROTFLMAO!

(Note: This was a sarcastic post aimed not at "dark_b" for his typo, but for all the posters who use the typo "teh" as a way to make fun of other posters' points.)
