I think Pellegrino is the only reason they are keeping Nick around, I too thought he would die when stabbed.I'm watching it right now (dual monitors, yay). Cas should be more competent these days considering all he's gone through, but instead he gets ambushed by a bunch of Demons. I'm intrigued to see where they're going to go with Nick; I imagined he'd been killed (along with Lucifer) at the end of Season 13, can't quite imagine what other reason there may be for keeping him around.
Jack can't be fully angelic depleted either, surely? He's the spawn of an Archangel. Further intrigued to see where Michael is going too, and what his end-game is. I'm convinced [our] Michael is going to come into play at some point too - maybe he'll even possess Nick in order to fight … himself.
Glad to have the show back anyhow.

Jack should not be depleted either, it didn't seem like much was taken. They are going to have two weak angels that provide nothing in terms of hand to hand? Cas or Jack will have to go if that is the case.
* - this is assuming that Lucifer is truly 'dead'. I don't believe he is, because I want Lucifer dead and completely done with, but SPN can't seem to let the character and plot contrivance go. And even if he is dead, Chuck will bring him back cause Lucifer was his 'first' or 'favorite' son. {long-suffering sigh}
Yeah, I'm pretty sure we've actually had the conclusive death of Lucifer (and dare I say it, Gabriel) now. It's a shame, especially the way they brought Gabriel back only to kill him off - again. What a waste.Lucifer is well and truly dead this time. He might have been tricky but the season 13 finale made it clear, he's gone.

I wish I could completely believe this, but after 13 seasons, if SPN ptb have proven anything with any regularity, its that nobody is ever truly dead as long as they can get the actor or actress back to portray the character.

I think Mark actually requested Crowley's death, didn't he? He had a good run in any case, but it (seemed) obvious that they were running out of things for Crowley to do. His introduction was brilliant, and I loved the character, but toward the end, he just seemed to be pottering around not doing a whole lot.Except Crowley.
SPN has however had it's up's and downs, there was one season (with a focus on Sam I think) which was dire. Had him in a relationship with some woman who's husband had been lost at war (who later returned IIRC). SPN kinda' went from good, to bad, and then back to good (and currently remains so).This thing is still around and kicking? Used to be a must see.. i just sort of forgot about it during what ever season it was that Sam got abducted and tortured but some chick. Seems like years ago
In a sense they bypassed it since we have Nick now, so same actor, different character, sort of.I wish I could completely believe this, but after 13 seasons, if SPN ptb have proven anything with any regularity, its that nobody is ever truly dead as long as they can get the actor or actress back to portray the character.

You're assuming Michael would have won?So Castiel gets kidnapped like an amateur in the first episode and he also needs Sam & Co. to rescue him. Once again, he is completely useless with all of his powers. Convenient aka LAZY writting.
Sam & Co. go after Michael in the second ep, with no real plan and their only real "weapon" (Cas) gets to babysit Jack & Nick?
And speaking of Nick, I also wonder what was the purpose of keeping him (yet another Lucifer return? Otherwise, I can't find a reason). Btw, seeing how Nick survived is yet another blow to the whole Season 5 arc. Knowing what we know now and seeing the battle from last season of Michael & Lucifer, you guys do realise that Dean & Sam saying NO to them back in S5 completely lost any kind of relevance? They should've both said YES, there would have been no apocalypse, Michael would have simply killed Lucifer, Sam would have survived in the end (as Nick did, apparently), the world would have lost The Devil and everyone could have drove happily into the sunset! lol
I guess the show is still good these days if you shut your brain off and forget pretty much all you knew... One thing I do like though, is Sam as a leader. I like the fact that he made no deals with the demon from the first episode, I like the fact that we've got a more mature and in control Sam overall. Dean as Michael, I wish to be explored more and I hope it's going to be, even if Michael apparently "left" his vessel.
It was just an example (since it did happen in the last one). It could have gone either way, my point stands even if Lucy would have won.You're assuming Michael would have won?
Wasn't Lucifer's plan to create paradise without Humanity? We don't know what [prime] Michael wanted, short of following Dads Wishes, though [elseworld] Michael seemed hell bent, firstly on destruction of Humanity and Demons, and now, with his second attempt, he wants to replace Humans with Monsters.It was just an example (since it did happen in the last one).
