Maybe they're just trying to cut down on the amount of damage ******s that breed can do.

I think it's a good thing.
A ****** of a parent shouldn't have the right to set their child up for a lifetime of humiliation due to a poorly chosen name.

I remember seeing these juggalo people showing off the birth certificate of their kid that they'd named wikkid juggalo... The fact that this kid is going to be labelled as a ****ing I.C.P. fan from the earliest moments in life is cruel and unusual punishment.

You can change your name if you don't like it or if it is absolutely ****ing ******ed.

What gives the government the right to decide what is absolutely ****ing ******ed? And Elvis? Why the **** is Elvis not acceptable? It's a real name.

We need to have naming laws for celebrities.

Sure you can change your name, but a kid with a really bad one will have already suffered as a result of it by the time that becomes necessary.

Defining a ******ed name becomes difficult I suppose, but somethings should be self-evident. I don't see why the name Elvis is prohibited.

So what if someone wants to name their kid Pilot Inspektor. Something tells me the kids are far worse off with ****** parents then ****** names.

By this reasoning we should have laws about who can and cannot breed. Haven't you guys seen Demolition Man.

We should have laws about who can and cannot breed. There should be at least some ****ing standards, because at this point some of the worst parents have the most children, which they can't support and inevitably become a burden to society in the long run.

I understand your logic, however restricting breeding means futher restricting sex... Meaning you'd have to pass an IQ test to get laid.

That's just wrong.

It keeps people fromnaming their children 4realz.

It also infringes on liberties that I think are pretty deserved. If I want my kid to be called Spock. I call him Spock.

Restricting breeding in no way equates to restricting sex. It simply requires mandatory sterilization at birth. Only after passing a series of evaluations(intellectual, financial, emotional, etc) can a breeding license be obtained. The license is good for one child. After the birth of the child, the parents sterilization is reinstated. Should further children be desired a license must be obtained for each one.

Restricted breeding that in no way prevents people from having sex.

You have to get a license to fish, but no license is required to have children. And Bubonic is right in that the dumbest people have the most kids, which shallows the intelligence of the gene pool.

A one-time license to breed? Screw that. I have plans to "accidentally" knock up a rich Republican heiress with a strictly pro-life family, so I can be a kept man for the rest of my life.

Sounds too much like Brave New World.

I feel in cases where children kill their parents, they should simply have to state their given name for the record. If it is a stupid name, case dismissed.

thats what the nazis dids.
"breeding the master race" things.

Something has to be done about the rampant stupidity in the world. This would at least slow it down.

Although I'm not opposed to stupid people being shot.

I assume you're only half-serious when you say this - maybe not even that - but when I hear of parents who abuse or kill their kids I wish we had some sort of system like this. :cmad:

BTW, the only naming laws I would support would be banning offensive "names" like Vagina or Froglips or something equally nasty.

I just think that every time someone gives their kid an unorthodox, obscene, or ridiculously Welsh* name, Social Services should be immediately called to their house to see if they're otherwise fit to be a parent. If not, the child gets renamed and given to a foster family.

*I know what you're thinking, but have you heard of the names Grwn and Culhwch?

Nope...dead serious. Not everyone should be allowed to breed, it's not like we have a shortage of people on the planet.

And also...why should society be dumbed down for the masses, think of what could be accomplished if those ****ers weren't holding progress back.
