ok, here's my question.

Can I recover stuff that was in the Temporary Internet Files folder if I run a system restore? there's some stuff i had saved in there that i need back.

i ran CCleaner and forgot to uncheck the folder and I just realized that everything is gone.

No with system restore deleted files (including temp folders) can not be regained, SR is only for things like installing software and it ****s up your system and you can roll back before it was installed. any file information like saved documents will be unchanged

Why would you require to recover temp internet file?

I was told back in the days of Windows 95 to always keep whatever you want saved in My Documents. When your system is on the verge of crashing you don't want to be friggin around trying to think where all your files are located and you can do it as quickly as possible. Plus it also prevents things like this to happen.

Long story short, I can't help you. I know some people who have brought their systems in to get their files restored from complete meltdowns and being able to bring things up that were deleted years before, but to do it will usually not come cheap.

i was downloading some stuff from ancestry.com, census' and stuff and i guess cuz it was on vista, it was saving it to the temp internet files even though i had it meant to go to My Documents.

i'd open up the folder and then copy them and paste into my documents, but i hadn't in a while. i'd completely forgotten about it and ran CCleaner on my laptop for the first time in ages and realized it too late :(

Thanks malice I will try that when I get out of the hospital. I should be discharged very soon and am browsing on my phone

Thanks again

ok so i'm gonna have to find one that is compatible with Vista cuz all the ones i looked at didn't appear to be vista compatible
