Taken Director Morel Helming Pursuit

Universal Pictures has hired Taken helmer Pierre Morel to direct action-thriller Pursuit.

Variety says the project is based on the early career of conflict photographer Jason Howe, who fell in love with a woman while on assignment in Colombia, only to discover she was an assassin.

The film will be produced by Captivate Entertainment's Jeffrey Weiner and Ben Smith; Jennifer Dana; and Andrew Lauren. Jerry Kalajian will executive produce.

Morel said that he and Luc Besson are taking their time trying to come up with a sequel to Taken. Morel is in post-production on the John Travolta-starrer From Paris With Love.

Sounds like it has potential, certainly a bit different for Morel.

This sounds like it could be pretty damn good.

Not to sure about him and Luc Besson wanting to make a sequel to Taken though. I love that movie but I think a sequel wouldn't work, who would get kidnapped next his ex wife?
