Talk Shows Return!

Yeah that associate producer is definitely there to say no to Conan. He just seemed like a humorless person especially on the couch when Conan lost it and was laughing for a long time.

But hey, it could just all be a big joke like his marriage being on the rocks.

Conan rides a girl's bike.

Also gave an audience member money to buy the studio audience food.

The ring spin again:

29 seconds (first spin)
22 seconds (second spin)

I love these strike episodes. He literally has a guy buying vending machine food for the audience. lol.

Anyone see Kimmel on Leno and Leno on Kimmel?

Very interesting and very entertaining interviews. I can see Leno appearing on Kimmel more often when Jay is done with the Tonight Show next year.

I want to see the strike last till next year so that Conan's Strike Beard can go with him to Los Angeles as well as German Disco Light Show. Sadly, I think he shaves the beard when the strike is over.

It'd be great if he didn't shave and just announced that he is now on strike from shaving until someone gives him his foam button.

2008 is the final year Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with Conan O' Brien. 2009 will be the beginning of a new era.

And hopefully, the continuance of Conan's Strike Beard.

I hate that Conan is going to LA. :(

I guess this means that if anyone is in the east coast and wants to see Conan, then this is the last year to do that. Otherwise, you'll have to fly out to California starting next year.

And has anyone heard who will be taking over Late Night once Conan leaves? Carson? Jon Stewart? I heard those two names as rumors once.

Carson? no way in hell

Jon Stewart is too different for "The Late Show" people probably like his "daily show" routine more. I say different because it doesn't seem like his style.

It's going to be weird for Conan having such a different big city like California. Maybe the wife trouble is uprooting the kids etc.

was he really having wife trouble or was that just a harmless joke? He could be having wife troubles now since he's spinning his wedding ring on tv! lol

His kids are like 3 and under.

Jon Stewart has a pretty good gig at The Daily Show. His show is only on 4 days a week and they need 22 minutes a night. They do writing 5 days a week but he's got it pretty easy, watch TV, read the newspaper then make comments. Interview a guest, play the straight man to a corespondent, talk to Colbert for a minute. He has his own production company which also owns TCR.

Jimmy Fallon is a name that has been tossed around. Stewart is signed to 2010 I believe. Conan's first year at The Tonight Show will be against Letterman, Kimmel and perhaps Jay Leno at Fox. Letterman will probably retire after that year against Conan, time to go spend more time with his son, he would be doing the late night shows for almost 30 years (same as Johnny Carson). Craig Ferguson said he's not sure if he'll continue after his contract is over. He's not a fan of the price of fame today. Conan had that crazy male stalker, Letterman has a female, that wanted to kill him.

I think Carson is TRYING to get the gig. Notice how different his show is nowadays then it was when it began back in 2002 or whatever. As for Jon Stewart...he is being considered as Letterman's replacement.

He has the Lorne Michaels connection, but I hope he doesn't get it. The man could barely keep a straight face during Weekend Update! Before 30 Rock I thought Tina Fey would have been the perfect replacement. Now...I don't know who could do the gig. It's a tough gig, man. I think Jerry Lewis explained it best. Lewis is a funny guy and what-not but when he guest hosted for Johnny Carson he found it very difficult. So...just cause you're funny doesn't mean you can do the job. There is more to it.

Back in the glory days of Fey/Fallon (before Fallon sadly became the better anchor) I thought Tina would be a great replacement if Conan was going to be promoted in 2008. She worked at Second City, SNL writer, WU anchor, would bring in a female audience. Who knows, 30 Rock may be cancelled like Arrested Development in their third season and she could get the gig. Though she is turning 38, NBC may want a younger talent in their late 20s/early 30s.

But if the internet was around in 1993 we would all be complaining about how some Simpsons writer nobody heard of was going to replace Letterman.

Conan's 8-Piece Rock Band:

I now have a new favourite version of Blue Moon of Kentucky.
Knocking off John Candy and Steve Martin in Planes, Trains & Automobiles.
