Hey, a little leeway please I'm not a native speaker!

photojones2 said:asking if a given religion is true is about as dumb as question as one could ask.
there's no way to prove anything. end of discussion.
And how did you come to your conclusion?
a tolerant person would be mindful of that.
JLBats said:I don't get it, are you suggesting that politically we should choose which religion is right?
celldog said:Oh...I'm tolerant in that I accept the fact that people have different beliefs. I let them live their lives and I live mine. However, I don't view all beliefs and practices as equal. I cannot logically believe that marriage is made for a man and woman only and then also believe in Homosexual unions. But if people want to believe that, they are fee to do so.
Emrys said:The show proof that your religion is true, irrevutable, empirical proof otherwise you are no better or worse than any other believe system out there.
As long as you cannot proof without a shred of doubt that your religion is true you have to accept that you're as true or untrue as every other one. Therefore, yes they are all true in the sense that they aid their believers and they are all untrue because they cannot withstand a thorough empirical examination.
JLBats said:...What does this have to do with anything? No one is saying that they hold two things that are contradictory as equally true
celldog said:that's what modern-day tolerance requires.
JLBats said:Er, no, it doesn't. It requires holding people as equal, yes, and RESPECTING ideas and opinions. However, what you think is the best is your own business. Just so long as you allow other people to make the same decision for themselves, and respect those decisions.
celldog said:Oh really? Where did I say that? You people still (after all of your ranting ) did not respond to the elements in my post concerning tolerance. All you've done is hurl snide attacks. Answer the question: Can all beliefs be true if they all come to different conclusions??
Marriage is between and Man and woman vs. Same gender marriage
Christians (Salvation is through Christ) vs. Muslims (There is no assurance)
Christians ( Death brings heaven or hell) vs Budhists (re-incarnation)
these views are different. They even oppose one another. Tolerance in the modern-day liberal sense says that all of these should be given the same status as true. Just answer the question are they all true??
Are you black.....because you sure speak with authority on minority issues.

...are you kidding? All Coulter's ever had to say is that liberals are godless terrorists. She's never made anything close to a clever or even witty poke/jab at liberals; I'd really, really like to see Coulter hand anybody's butt back to them. Hasn't happened yet.Man-Thing said:or maybe he was afraid of getting his butt handed to him?

bored said:Very few actually do what you claim they did, and all were from nearly two thousand years ago. Btw, there is no mention of Jesus in the Talmud at all.
celldog said:THE TALMUD & JESUS CHRIST
From the Jewish Encyclopedia, we learned that the Talmud slanders our Savior, Jesus Christ.
"... the Jewish Encyclopdia admits that Jewish legends concerning Jesus are found in the Talmud and Midrash and in " the life of Jesus ( Toledot Yeshu) that originated in the Middle Ages. It is the tendency of all these sources to belittlethe person of Jesus by ascribing to Him illegitimate birth, magic, and a shameful death. " 1.
Rev. I. B. Pranaitis revealed in The Talmud Unmasked that Jesus is also maligned as a false teacher:
" He[Jesus] is referred to in the Talmud as Otho Isch- "That man," i.e. the one who is known to all. In the tract Abhodah Zarah, 6a, we read: "He is called a Christian who follows the false teachings of that man, who taught them to celebrate the feast on the first day of the Sabbath, that is, to worship on the first day after Sabbath Talui, -"The one who was hanged" " 2.
Jewish sources avoid the Greek name "Jesus", meaning 'savior', and abbreviate Jeschua to "Jeshu' which means "may his name be blotted out!"
