Standing as rumor right now. but I wouldn't be surprised if he did it:

Ever since Tarantino's / Rodriguez's Grindhouse came out last April, I've been anxious to go back and watch some grindhouse classics from Tarantino's archives. One of them I came across in a random search one evening was one called Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!. This 1965 black and white classic is an exploitation film full of sex and violence, everything that makes up a good grindhouse movie! Although I still have never seen it, it's on the top of my "to watch" list whenever I get a free minute. A new rumor from Variety claims that grindhouse connoisseur Quentin Tarantino could be remaking Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! next.

The film is directed by sex-flick filmmaker Russ Meyer and is about three tough busty chicks who travel through the desert, stirring up trouble and testosterone along the way. The rumor / report by Liz Smith says that Tarantino wants his version to be "even raunchier." Is that possible? And beyond that, his first casting choices are socialite Kim Kardashian, Cuban bombshell Eva Mendes and crack-addict ex-pop star Britney Spears. Kim and Eva, yes, I'm all for, but Britney, please no!!

Sadly, I really don't think this is going to get made. After Grindhouse failed not only at the box office, but on DVD too, I don't think any studio would be interested in another exploitation grindhouse feature. However, at the same time, if he did actually remake this and release it, I'm sure it would find an audience. And if he had a better studio with better marketing (instead of The Weinstein Company) that might help, too, but that's where Tarantino's hooked at the moment. As everyone knows, I'm all for whatever grindhouse and exploitation films Tarantino (or his friends) whip up, so bring it on!

Don't they mean homage, not remake. Tarantino makes homages to the type of movie he likes at the moment, but uses his own characters so it's not a remake.

That's usually true, but it sounds like he's actually remaking it.

Quentin, would you stop f**king around with this stupid s**t and get your ass working on Inglorious Bastards already?

He already tried to make a "homage" of this movie and it sucked......

erm... nearly all of tarantinos movies have had some sort of homage to a film style...

im just sayin, it's nothin new with tarantino to find an unusual style

That movie is perfect as it is, if it's remade it would never be nearly as cool. THose chicks, that violence, you gotta love it.

I'd rather see the probably-won't-happen Vega Brothers.:csad::up:

Tarantino lost his way a long time ago. The man needs to go rewatch some of his watchable movies and see if he can remember what being a tallented cutting edge director used to feel like

Holy *****balls!

FPKK is my all time fav movie, above even Batman Begins and Robocop, my second and third. A remake would be cool I guess, but I'd love more than anything to see a full sequel.

For a while it was talked about in the 1970's, it was going to be called 'Kill! Kill! Pussycat Faster'. In the proposed script the film begins with the main character Varla awakening in hospital after her apparent demise at the end of FPKK.

I always thought Jenifer Tilly would be great from a visual standpoint as Varla,
just her voice is all wrong, too high. Either way I'd like to see a remake rather than nothing.

Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! is a great movie. It doesn't need a remake. HOWEVER...if it were to be remade it would be better if directed by Robert Rodriguez. Russ Meyer was the king of mainstream porn. Tarantino is a wuss when it comes to sex and nudity. Rodriguez can handle this material better.

But, QT has been attached to about 5-6 projects since Kill Bill but then he suddenly made Death Proof, so we'll see if this is true, I highly doubt it.

Tarantino or Rodriguez would be excellent choices for this one!!!
Deep down in my gut though, i feel this flick shouldnt be remade.
But if it's gonna be done i cant think of any others who'd be the ones to do it!!!!......(well...maybe me, but hey i'm not in the running for it! ;)

It's only got two explanation marks, after the 'Kill's.
The thread starter put an extra one in after Pussycat.

As for TNA aspect, it was one of the few Meyer films that actually has no nudity at all.

:whatever:

I think this here is a filmmaker who is getting a wee bit too comfortable in these type of movies. I personally liked Resevoir Dogs, was blown away by Pulp Fiction, admired Jackie Brown and enjoyed the Kill Bills (though volume 1 was a little dull), but he is getting too stuck into copying previous filmmakers from the 1970s underground these days instead of trying to leave his own mark now.

I know he has always been the homage/"borrower" king and is a huge fan of obscure cinema...but try and add to it. He already made this movie and it was called Death Proof. Now to full on remake it...well I honestly hopes this is the first time a Tarintino movie actually falls through.

Gotta say I'm on the opposite side of the fence.

Would I like to see Tarrnatino FPKK? yup.

I am totally convinced this man doesn't have an original thought in his head.

FPKK doesn't need a remake. Even if it was QT making it. And I think he has absolutely no intention in making it. That whole "news" is bs. C'mon, QT wouldn't never cast people like Kim Kadashrian on Britney Spears on his movie. :whatever:
