First up, this is completely unofficial and has yet to be confirmed by an announcement (consider it Rumor Mill worthy), but it looks like Genius Products and The Weinstein Company are finally readying Quentin Tarantino's ultimate Kill Bill and Death Proof, along with Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror presumably, for release on DVD this fall. Amazon.com currently shows an 11/6 street date for a 4-disc, 247-minute Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair DVD. Meanwhile, Grindhouse Presents Death Proof is also shown as a 9/18 release. There's no Amazon entry yet for Grindhouse Presents Planet Terror, but you'd have to assume it'll be released around the same time. Rest assured, we'll post the official details as they become available.

Been looking forward to this for a while. Let's hope it finally happens.

I wish they would've released this back when I was still excited about it. I might get it on DVD if the price isn't too bad, but this seems a few years too late.

There is a fanedit named exactly the same thing as this floating around the internet and is the exact same thing.

I never cared for the films so I will pass.

so, wait a minute, they're releasing Grindhouse on two DVDs?! yup, couldn't be more of a ripoff if they tried.

I just don't 'get' Kill Bill. It's not exciting as an action movie, as it's just Uma slicing thru hordes of thugs. And as a parody of 70's chop socky flicks - well, most people who watch Kill Bill will have little familiarity with such films.

Well, they WERE two seperate movies. I'm sure they're going to release a two-pack for it, though.

yea that's right gang, let's go and steal property that was made to entertain and used for biz but we can pirate it! that's right we show respect to the people who made these songs/shows/movies by taking them and sharing them blindly cuz hell, they make enough money and it's got 0 to do with me.
besides, in our everyday lives our jobs are so secure that it doesn't matter!
we can can destroy a biz model that supports hundreds of thousands of families and hey, no sweat, cuz the tool who posted and i quoted will sort it out cuz his buddy took another man's work and used it to his delight!
wicked.

While it would have been nice 2 or 3 years ago, I haven't seen them in awhile so a release soon would be a nice revisiting.

Well once it comes out I´ll just sell the Kill Bill DVDs I have already and but that 4 disc set

I dont see how that is a ripoff. What if you dont like both movies. Personally I like Planet Terror a lot more then I liked Death Proof. So when it comes out I only intend to buy Planet Terror. Works for me and others because truth be told if it only came in a set then I wouldnt buy it because Im not going to waste money on a movie I don't like.

If they were to sell it only as a set then they could be setting themselves up to lose out on money. If they are smart they will release them seperatly and as a two-pack.

I remember really digging the choreography quite a bit. As well as the cheese factor and the styalized gore. For example there some very entertaining in seeing Lucy Liu run across a table and chopping off a gang leader's head and having the very cartoony blood splatter everywhere. Or the slowness of the final showdown between Lucy Liu and the Bride at the end of Kill Bill Vol. 1 after all the hecticness of the previous scene complete slowness to the white snow. It had a wonderful cinematic aspect to it... From what I remember, haven't seen it since it came out though...

Thank f***ing god for this. I absolutely love the movie(s).

the whole point of Grindhouse was that it was a b-movie DOUBLE FEATURE. you didn't have to pay double admission price. this is nothing but a shameless cash in.

I do agree that it makes more sense for them money-wise, but I'd have thought that Tarantino and Rodriguez would be above this kind of s#!t by now. though I guess splitting Kill Bill in two movies shows QT's not...

eh
QT makes me sick. i'm not suprised that this got f'ed up too

Because we know that QT's house was paid for because you bought a ticket for his movie, rented and then bought the VHS for those movies that came out before DVD, bought the DVDs when they came out, bought the re-release of those DVDs when the studio wanted to repackage the same movie with a new spiffy cover and another disc of stuff.

Kill Bill in full

Quentin Tarantino undeniably makes some great movies, but he's not exactly what you'd call focused. Or reliable. He's been talking up KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR since 2005, promising a wide theatrical release with a blood-drenched NC-17 rating. Needless to say, we haven't seen that yet...

Will we finally see The Bride slice through the House of Blue Leaves in full crimson glory (as was released overseas)? Amazon has the 247-minute complete cut (which is still only the total runtime of the two existing films together, so who knows if this is a "director's cut" with additional footage) now listed for DVD release on November 6th of this year, in a loaded 4-disc package under the name KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR.

No specifics of special features have been announced, and there's no way to tell if that date is even remotely accurate given Tarantino's capricious nature and the aggravatingly sporadic release methodology of the Weinsteins (DEATH PROOF is listed with a Sept. 18th street date at the moment, though it'll no doubt be double or triple-dipped later). And considering I've waited this long anyway, I'll probably hold out for HD/Blu-Ray...

Kill bill? More like sit and talk then poke him in the chest.

what a weird as hell movie

So does this mean I have to wait another three years to get the complete version of Grindhouse the way it is supposed to be?

Oh, and this dvd is going to be mine the second it comes out.

I probably won't buy it because I already have both Kill Bill movies on DVD.
