The Dark Knight TDK too violent says British MP

yea that basically the main problem, its parents not taking full responsibilty for their children. thats a massive problem over here in the UK anyway. the other night after a bit of a smoke session ;) ;) i was rudely awoken at 3am but loadz of kids making noise outside my block!! 3am!!! and they must of been making loadz of noise because i was in a deep deep stoner sleep!! the question is.........where were their fooking parents!!! how can they just let their kids go out in a dodgy area at 3 in the morning?

Heh heh. That's a rehashed discussion every few weeks on all the phone show's over here, "I can't believe that that there are Parents who are letting their 7-10 year olds out until 11p.m.!":hehe:

yea but i man, i was in a beautiful deep stoner sleep that i didnt think a explosion would wake me up from!! and then these little ferel kids fooking wake me up!! they must of woken up the whole block they were so loud. its the same as these parents who cant be bothered to cook proppa dinners so they give the kids a couple of quid to go get some maccy dees or fish n chips, then they wonder why they are getting fatter!!

that is pretty funny. yea we are hardcore!!!!!!!!! hoohahahahahahehehehehehahahahahehe

Hell yeah, compared to the US. I mean, do you guys even have the FCC over there?

it's like batman returns all over again, except this time people actually like it.

The funny thing is that even people complaining about the rating, be they journalists or politicians, still say it's a great movie.

Hooray for us.

**** the establishment!!!! all them MPs are living in their own little dream world anyway

whats FCC?

ohh i see its like some censorship board? well **** all that crap!!

Yeah, they're basically an organization that demands money should a network air something that they deem inappropriate (too much sex, too much violence, swearing on air). IMO, they're that little *****ebag with the swear jar. It's just stupid. I mean, I can kindof understand the sex and the violence, but if I want to say f*** on tv, I dont see what the big deal is.

yea we have a term over here its called "jobswerth" which basically means someone who is a complete prick who does everything by the book and would grass you up if you have a laugh at work or do something illegal. basically just w@nk3rs

I don't like the FCC.

I say, leave it up to the parents.

Meaning, my kids are going to watch everything that isn't x rated. lol.

i'm going to encourage my kids to watch snuff movies and play manhunt in the dark just to dispell the myth that films and games make people kill.

haha, yeah my mom gets upset at me cause i teach my 6 year old sister to wrestle, play video games, and love zombies, vampires, comics, and anything that in a movie, tries to kill people. haha.

lol yea you gotsta do it!! i remember when my uncle used to babysit me when i was a toddler and he was well into his horror films like friday the 13th n that. i used to sit up and watch them with him, and although i have a bit of a temper i've never actually killed anyone..........yet!!! hooohahahaheheehahaha

Stupid British guy! oh wait.. im British.. Stupid Guy! the dark knight is awesome!

Keith Vaz? wasn't he the one who was hounded out of office in a cash for questions style affair! A politician actually found to be corrupt, a fine example of concerned parenting lol.

I think they should have made TDK a 15 if only for the sake of maybe actually getting to see it at the Imax and not having to wait till all the little Sh-ites go back to school (bloody place is nigh sold out solid till the end of Sept)

I think T.V. over here is a hell of a lot more relaxed than America, whereas Cinema in the States is more relaxed then here.

Keith Vaz? Oh, that'd be the 'politician' who'd attend the opening of a bag of crisps if he thought he'd get some publicity out of it. And knowing him he'd find something controversial in it.

Pr*ck.

Keith Vaz accepted a "deal" (bribe) in order to put his moral scruples aside and vote for British citezens to be imprisoned for six weeks without trial.

Maybe he just found TDK's depiction of corrupt officials to be upsetting?

It totally depends though. This movie might actually influence 12 year olds, and if they just so appear to be obsessed over it, they might not be mature enough to limit themselves. This is a dark crime/action thriller movie after all, they might have expected a more friendlier superhero movie. I'm actually quite happy if they raise the age limit up a bit.

Anyway, at least 12 year old and above is something. In some countries, The Dark Knight was rated for Universal Viewers - meaning that kids as young as 6 Year olds were cowering in their seats when they watch the Joker push the knife on to the victim's cheeks. Heck, for younger viewers who actually enjoyed it, it possibly gives them some ideas of how extreme crime could be committed. Just a side thought.

"Movies don't make serial killers, they just make serial killers more creative." SCREAM.:cwink:

I thought the pencil was pushed in the eye not the cheek ?
