has anyone tried to tweet #thefirerises or @thefirerises for some reason my account can't do it now - the handle that i'm using now is thefoolcat (this was one of the first names that didn't have a user but i changed my account name to) my tweets go through to other ppl but not to anyone on #thefirerises or @thefirerises
**
i'm tired clicking on my picture on the bane picture but nothing happens, not even on twitter
**
5gum does have an ad in the Batman comic book and it does have a morse code in there but i have no idea what it says
**
googled 5gum morse code and found this website: www.testsubjectsneeded.com

Yeah, that place has been looked at. As of now we are pretty sure that it only has something to do with gum because the theme is closely related to previous 5 Gum ad campaigns along with reports of the phrase "testsubjectsneeded" appearing in their recent TV spots, and it's timing of launching and placement of the ads in DC comics during the week where we were expecting most for them to do something for TDKR was just unfortunate at best and cruel at worst.

Course, not going to discourage you from signing up. It could be fun. It's just most likely an ARG made to promote chewing gum. At worst it's something to do til Batman's viral gets moving.

Idea....does anyone know how many pics it took to fill the mosaic? I thought it was around 8000....Maybe when the acct tweets the same number something will change......

Interesting thought. I don't know anymore. My brain hurts.

I'm thinking the Bane pic should eventually link to something, but knowing that it would be the most obvious next step, I am thinking they won't go that direction and it will be something else.

I wish they'd kick it off already.

They're probably regrouping and changing their timelines considering how fast people cracked the first one and found the Bane pic without the mosaic being finished.

But honestly, that was a one-day puzzle at best. Even if they hadn't messed up with the link of the pic, we would have figured out how to get the full picture to appear by tweeting #thefirerises, and a bunch of us would have created fake twitter accounts and hammered it until we got the full pic.

If it threw off their time line, it was only thrown off for a day, maybe 2.

I think if anything happens, it will happen by 8:00p.m. tonight(5/27/11). If nothing happens this weekend, then i'm thinking that things will be quiet until SDCC.

I think we won't be getting until next week at the earliest whatever we're getting (Batlogo is the most likely).

I hope you're wrong, but you might be right.

For some reason, I don't get the impression that they are going to do the same things, use the same tactics, present the ARG in the same way they did the last time. It's predictable and we'll already be looking for certain types of puzzles and clues. I would hope the creative team went back to the drawing board once they got the commission to create a new ARG and came up with something truly unique.

Not that I'd complain if they did an ARG resembling the previous one. It was an awesome ride! But for this one, I'm trying to steer away from what we experienced the last time and see what other directions this could be taking. More social media obviously, and it makes perfect sense. What else could they do?:huh::huh:

I think we'll get the logo before SDCC, but I don't think that'll be through a viral game anyway.

I liked how they kept the majority of the game played on the weekends. M-F was spent pouring over what we learned then on Friday after work the next part of the game would pop up. I hope they keep things like that.

I think we are going to be in a for a much more low key, arguably less fun viral this time around.

The games will be smaller and foused on Twitter/Facebook in order to reach more than just fanboys.

And I definitely don't think anything will be story-based.

I feel like we'll be getting the logo there. Its the prime place to show it off. Showing the logo at this point will be like announcing a new aaa title video game when E3 is just around the corner.

To be fair, he has got a sort-of point, which is, of course, easily countered by the fact that the virals for TDK did nothing to dampen or diffuse excitement.
Yup. Although it certainly did heighten my own personal expectations for TDK, but luckily TDK exceeded those expectations. :awesome:

It would have been such a downer had the movie sucked and I spent those 1.5 years for nothing. :funny:

All this stress and anxiety waiting for the next little thing... it can't be healty.

I'm more excited than anxious but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't anxious for this thing to kick off. 3 years is a long time to wait.

Wouldn't it be terrible if the fire rises is the only thing we ever got...lol

Did they? I distinctly remember considering if it would be worth it to skip work to try and get one of those Joker phone cakes. :funny: I also think I left work early a few times to do a scavenger hunt, not to mention all the Wiki editing I did while at work. It's a miracle my boss didn't fire me. :o

Yup, Halloween fell on a weekday during the Virals

and the cakes were also on weekdays. The Virals seemed to happen randomly, it was hard to keep up.

I'd have to be online all the time all day everyday

It's too early to judge. For all we know the chanting is as relevant as "I believe in Harvey Dent." was...

And for all we know the arg won't have meat and bones till later. But to say it won't be as fun at this point is a bit hasty, though knowing it won't be in the same hands, as well as knowing that the same hands aren't necessarily the same people, who knows if it will be as good?

Time will tell.

^Yeah there was a lot on weekdays haha I missed class and or work on quite a few occassions myself haha. Luckily one of the IBIHD events was on my campus lol.

"I believe in Harvey Dent" was surprisingly relevant. :awesome: I thought it was awesome how it tied into the movie that well. Not the rallies in particular, but the fact that Dent so powerfully represented hope in Gotham and why Batman felt the need to take the fall for him at the end.
