Well I have PMed some of you about this, but it seems I can finally post threads. On another board I am on, we were kicking around ideas on a Titans series much like Smallville of looking at them before they become the Titans we know and love.

The more I was thinking about it the more I wanted to write something, so I started planning and writing and have completed a draft of the pilot and some of the season one episodes.

Looking for some people to read and give me some feedback, I know the pilot is rough and I want to fix it. Ideally I'd find a co-writer but I know people are busy with their own things.

I don't know if this is something I would just write, try to pitch it to someone (as if they'd go for it) or hey just shoot it and youtube it.

Will be posting it in this thread.

1.1 “Pilot” (All)

1.2 “Cruise control”
During a journalism class, Linda watches a few news clips about Superman’s exploits on YouTube, wanting to be covering stories like that. This is how we learn a bit of the superhero climate with newcomers like Superman and the Flash. In the back of the same class DJ receives a text message from Wally telling him to come to the park.

DJ arrives at the park and finds Wally tossing the football back and forth to himself. Wally talks to DJ about how relieving it feels to have his best friend know about his powers. Wally shares a brief bit about the lightening storm origin of his powers. He says he wants to find out just how fast he can go.

Elsewhere a disheveled man stumbles down the street, with someone following him. The man seems to be hearing voices in his head. Driven batty by them, the man stumbles into the street and is struck by an oncoming car. The man following him, the Control Freak, pounces on the body and recovers a piece of tech implanted behind the man’s right ear. The Control Freak muses that he needs another guinea pig to his control device on.

That night, Wally ventures out of the house speeding here and there. He finds himself to be incredibly hungry and goes to a quickie mart to stock up on some junk food. Control Freak is also at the quickie mart and tags Wally with an implant.

The next morning, DJ wonders where Wally is, not seeing him in any of his classes.

Control Freak watches TV and catches a report about the man who killed himself the evening before. He tells Wally to get him a drink from the fridge, which Wally does in the blink of an eye. After a couple more tests, Control Freak discovers Wally’s superspeed and decides to use it to his advantage.

Control Freak takes Wally to a bank and has Wally clean it out. Control Freak is thrilled with his new discovery. He has Wally knock over a few more banks. DJ is at one of the banks and spies his friend and Control Freak together. The two get away and DJ wonders if Wally has become a criminal simply to test his power.

DJ figures out he has to track his friend down to find out what happened to him. He gets a city map and marks down the banks hit already and figures there is a pattern. He catches Control Freak and Wally at another bank. DJ follows Control Freak back to his home. DJ confronts Control Freak who sics Wally on him. DJ is able to distract Wally long enough to snatch Control Freak’s remote control, freeing Wally.

Wally is mortified at what he has done. He returns all the bank money and apologizes to DJ for attacking him. DJ is just glad his friend is OK. (Wally and DJ)

1.3 “The Doctor is in-visible”
S.T.A.R. Labs is working on an advanced invisibility cloak for the department of defense, adding little weapons tweaks. Discouraged by the imminent military application of the cloak, yet inspired by the heroes in the news, Dr. Jacob Finlay takes the suit out one night intending to use it to become a hero himself. Unfortunately for Finlay, the suit malfunctions and he is shot, critically wounding him.

Arthur Light is working late at S.T.A.R. labs when Finlay brings the suit back. He tells Light about what he tied to do and dies a moment later. Light finds himself inspired, but only to use the suit for personal gain.

At Sidekick City High School, Wally and a couple other students, GRANT EMERSON and TONI MONETTI wait outside of Principal Slade’s office to be drug tested. Toni muses about her first test in a new country in a new school is a drug test. Wally is nervous about the test, not knowing the extent of his powers he wonders if anything will show up on the test. He acts very nervous around Principal Slade.

Dr. Light, meanwhile is seeking immediate gains with the cloak. He decides to kidnap Victor and ransom him to his father. Dr. Light strikes when Victor and Donna are at a TV station to record and athlete of the week segment for the TV news. Dr. Light subdues knocks out Donna and subdues Victor. He takes both of them. Dr. Light figures a bonus is coming once he learns who Donna’s parents are and how much money they have.

Donna and Victor wake up in captivity and discuss how they got into this particular mess. They learn just how different they are as they talk. Both privately wonder if they could escape but don’t want to reveal themselves to the other.

Fortunately for them Dr. Light provides them with an opening. He comes in and undoes Victor’s bonds intending to create a ransom video. Victor fights back against Dr. Light. Dr Light blasts Victor with what he thinks will be a killing blow. Seeing Victor down and fearing for her own life, Donna lashes out at Dr. Light who is already battered from his fight with Victor.

Dr. Light sees his plans falling apart, not knowing the teens had powers. He decides to cut bait and run. Donna checks on Victor, who is still out. She turns him over on his back and sees the wound Dr. Light left. The wound exposes some of Victor’s circuitry on his stomach. Donna is freaked out and flees the scene.

Victor awakens at S.T.A.R. Labs being repaired by his father. Victor can’t remember how he got there. Dr. Stone theorizes that some instinctive programming kicked in and that Victor’s systems caused him to return to the lab to be repaired. Victor recounts his kidnapping by Dr. Light.

At school the next day, Victor confronts Donna, asking her what happened after he was knocked out. Donna completely gives him the cold shoulder and calls him a freak.

Principal Slade meanwhile is looking over the results of the drug tests.

1.4 “Heroic Aspirations”
A master swordsman from the Far East, HIROSHI, is in town to give Bruce some pointers. With him is his son, SEIICHI. Seiichi was hoping to be with his father and share in some of the lessons he is showing Bruce, but he is saddled with DJ. The two have completely different outlooks as Seiichi is dead set on following in his father’s footsteps while DJ’s father is in the ground and he is trying to come to terms with that.

The two come across a carjacking. DJ is surprised to see Black Mask committing the crime. Seiichi wants to spring into action. DJ briefly holds him at bay but the boys gets by and attacks Black Mask. DJ is shocked when Seiichi draws a sword seemingly out of no where. Black Mask is able to escape and Seiichi gives chase. DJ reluctantly follows thinking of the trouble he is going to be in later.

DJ catches up with Seiichi who has followed Black Mask to a rail yard. DJ fills in Seiichi on some of the backstory with Black Mask and Triple D, fearing it could be more Underground activity. DJ inquires about the sword which Seiichi says is the weapon of his grandfather when he went under the monicker of BUSHIDO and protected his homeland. The sword is powered by the fighting spirits of past warriors. The sword is handed down through the generations. DJ deduces that Seiichi did not get his handed to him.

The conversation is cut short as Black Mask and fellow thugs confer about their plan. They are attempting to round up fast tuner cars to run drugs across the border with. Seiichi figures he doesn’t need to hear anymore and attacks sword in hand. DJ reluctantly follows again. The two barely make it by before cops are called. DJ and Seiichi are able to slip away unscathed.

Later, back at the mansion, Seiichi is chastised by his father and forced to relinquish his sword. Seiichi tells his father he only wished to be a hero like him. He is told that he must wait and only if it is his destiny will he become the next Bushido. Unsatisfied Seiichi says it is his destiny to help people who cannot help themselves.

DJ respect Seiichi for figuring out what he wants to do with his life at such an early age, while DJ himself is still trying to figure that out. Again he reasons costumed adventuring is not for him.

1.5” The Devil in all of us”
A popular televangelist is in town holding a special weekend retreat. Wally’s mother signs him up for the retreat much to his annoyance.

Victor decides to sign up, much to his father’s chagrin, hoping that he will get a message or sign on the trip that can give him some sort of peace with what he has become.

On the trip, Victor and Wally are paired together. As they start to click, they stumble upon Kid Devil, a creature that has been terrorizing people in the area. Wally is repulsed initially, but after interacting with him Victor finds Kid Devil to be intelligent and a kid like his namesake. Victor finds him to be a kindred spirit, knowing what it’s like to be different. Wally begins to open up to him as well and to Victor that he himself is different.

The trio’s venture into their kindred spirits is spoiled not long after as Kid Crusader has managed to finally track down his prey. He warns Victor and Wally that Kid Devil is a monster and to stay away and let him deal with him. After seeing Kid Crusader try to kill Kid Devil, Victor and Wally decide they can’t let that happen.

After a short but grueling fight, Kid Crusader decides it is not time or place for him to deal with Kid Devil. He retreats promising to finish the job and warns Victor and Wally to do a lot of praying because he will be back for them as well.
(Victor and Wally)

1.6 “Girlfight”
The upcoming wrestling match is the talk of the school. The match in particular people are talking up is between Sidekick City High’s first female wrestler, Rosabelle Mendez and Lilian “Lil’” Barda from arch rival Westside High School. Lilian is the daughter of pro wrestling legend Bertha “Big” Barda. Lilian hates the fact her mother did pro wrestling because she had real power and thinks she made a joke of herself. Lilian has dreams of serious wrestling.

Rosabelle is able to beat Lilian, humiliating the girl. Lilian later returns to the school accusing Rosabelle of cheating and doping. The argument soon turns to a physical one with the ladies coming to blows.

When the girls are finally calmed down, they are arrested. Slade phones his contacts and suggests the girls for pick up. He is told they were aware of them. Lilian escaped custody and Rosabelle was picked up by an unknown (to the H.I.V.E. anyway) organization, Cadmus.

1.7 “Research and discovery”
Donna spends the afternoon in the library, much to the chagrin of her friends who want to go out shopping. Donna pours over books on genetics. She thinks back to her kidnapping ordeal and struggle with Dr. Light and then her attempts to separate Rosabelle and Lilian where she was on the receiving end of a punch from Lilian that would have seriously hurt a normal person.

Donna pays her father a surprise visit at work, interrupting a meeting with investors. Mr. Troy does not mind the interruption and takes the opportunity to brag about his superstar daughter. Donna inquires about whether anyone in her family was known for being special or different. Mr. Troy says of course they are different, the Troys are smarter, wealthier and more successful than anyone else. Donna asks if any of them have been physically different. Mr. Troy isn’t sure what his daughter means. Frustrated, Donna leaves.

Walking to her car, Donna is held up by a would-be car thief. The two soon struggle over the gun. The thief fires the gun, hitting Donna who falls to the ground. The thief bolts. Donna recovers on the ground, scared out of her wits, having never been shot before. She examines her body and finds the bullet hole in her clothes but discovers she is unhurt.

Donna doesn’t know what any of it means. She attempts to confide in her best friend who is just as superficial and shallow as ever.

Donna is lost finding no comfort from her family or her friend. She hangs after school the next day, catching Victor after football practice. She apologizes for calling him a freak before saying she had no right given what is happening to her. Victor inquires about it, but she leaves.

Walking home she runs into Principal Slade who offers her a ride home. Donna takes it. She tells him that she is changing. He equates it to high school and maturing. Donna says it not that and wonders a loud what one does when they find out they are different from everyone else. Slade tells her to be who she feels she is and not worry about it so much. The answer, he says, may just come to her.

After dropping Donna off, Slade makes a call. He tells the person he called that he thinks Donna won’t be that hard to bring into the fold as she is soon going to be looking for a purpose in life and they will give her one.

Suddenly armed agents burst onto the scene and attempt to take Kori. DJ fights them off and the two flee. When they finally make it to a safe spot, DJ inquires as to what the squirmish was about. Kori says the men are after her because she is not a normal girl. She escaped from them and does not want to go back. DJ makes a vow to protect her, impressing Kori.

The agents appear again, able to track Kori. Tougher agents show up this time, forcing Kori to reveal her powers, shocking DJ. The agents manage to subdue the duo and shackle Kori. Labs Dr. Stone is thrilled with Victor wanting to be upgraded. As he finishes, Jason places another call to Wally to taunt him. Victor is able to trace the phone to the warehouse.

The thugs around the warehouse are all systematically taken out by a mysterious figure. DJ is stirred awake by the mystery figure who warns him to be more careful. Jason appears to torture DJ more and is surprised to find him free. He and DJ scrap until DJ manages to knock him out.

Wally and Victor appear on the scene, surprised to find DJ free. Wally thinks DJ managed to do it himself which DJ decides to let him believe. Changed some of my posts to have characters and episode summaries in different posts. I nixed some of the characters in the descriptions I haven't used yet, like Raven and Garth so as not to try and shoehorn them in where they don't fit, though Garth appears briefly in episode 10.

Still looking for script readers and possible co-writers.:woot:
