I'm just posting this for Calvin, since he can't make threads at the moment.

“I'm moving soon, and I need to sell off some of the heavier things that I have, and I kind of want to get an idea from you guys what would be reasonable prices for various equipment and appliances. I'm trying to get a digital camera to borrow so I can get pictures, but I figured I'd get an early start. So, I'll describe the stuff I want to sell, just pop in and tell me what you'd be willing to pay, as rationally as you can imagine.

Heavy punching bag, around 80 pounds I believe, with a big metal stand that has a speed bag attachment (with speed bag) on the back. From what I can recall, originally the bag was about 70-80 bucks, and the stand was about 130-150. Punching bag in decent condition, stand in good condition.

Free weight bench, with a bar and a larger bar (which didn't come with the set, but is kind of old). It has attachments for leg exercises, and side arm things that you use for I'm guessing butterfly chest exercises. I think the original cost was around 70-80. Pretty good condition.

Two 50 lbs. plate weights, four 25 pounders, and then two or four of 10 and 15 pounds each.

Medium sized tv, flat screen but not the high def kind, and not the thin kind, just has a flat screen. Hasn’t been used much, just for video games, which I don’t play often, but it isn’t a major brand.

Xbox, of the newer generation, the kind that came with the smaller controller. About 8 or 10 games, highlights being Ninja Gaiden, Fable the lost chapters, Prince of Persia 2, Mechwarrior, Soul Calibur II. DVD remote accessory as well.

Fairly nice TV cubby/stand. Enclosed on all sides except the front, has holes for cords to go through in the back. TV sits on top, and there’s a shelf between that spot and the bottom shelf. Has wheels I believe. It’s in really good condition, sort of a light colored wood.

A microwave, good condition, pretty new model, auto-rotating table on the inside and all that. White.

So, just take some guesses as to what you’d personally be willing to pay for any of that stuff, it would help me out a lot.”

Oh, add a standing rotating fan, with remote control.

Let's say 50 American Comic Books?

Depends on the comic titles and issue numbers. ;)

Also I just realized how dirty this threads title can be...

Calvin is obviously your pimp. Mack daddy Cal wants to know how much your stuff is worth, no harm in that.

I'll give you $100 for everything.

Lol. This thread makes me "Lol".

Are you going to a thrift shop or holding a garage sale?

I can't really say for sure on most things.
The bag would go for 50 (i say sounds fair)
stand - 50
xbox - 50
games - 10
weights - 20 bucks for highest, reducing 5 dollar for intergrals of 5
tv- trash it
tv stand - trash it.

:)
Well, I'll stick it on craig's list, as well as making a some flyers to post around the university and the neighborhood, hence why I want to figure out some reasonable prices before I make them. Really, tv's aren't sellable these days? What's wrong with people? I'd think the stand would be worth more than the bag though, it cost about double what the bag originally cost. 50 bucks for the xbox is alright though, I'd take that. I hadn't really thought about the weights being much of a moneymaker, but I guess you're right, they don't really tend to get wear and tear.

Depends how big it is, and how new it is. If it's 20+inches and not too old, I'm sure you can get some money for it. If it's a small one or old, a used electronics store or something may be the best course.

Im looking to purchase a bench and a punching bag.....
