"Terminator 1-3": The Good, Bad, & Ugly...

This thread is stupid, and most of your complaints arent valid...there was alot of sex in Terminator becasue sex sells, and it was an R rated movie...there was alot of swearing in T2 because, once again, R rated movie, and that's how people really talk...of course Johns foster parents didnt give a f**k about him, that was the whole point, they were *****...and yeah, Silberman was supposed to be a power abusing moron who was only out to get rich by using Sarah, he so much as says this...and of course the violence in T3 was sick, once again, R Rated, and it was to show that the TX is every bit as much of the ruthless killing machine Arnold was...if you dont like sex, violence, and swearing in movies, maybe the Terminator films arent for you...you should pick something more suited to your tastes, like the Cinderalla franchise :o

I actually completely agree with you here.

[*]One word...or rather a lot of them, in the swearing sense. I watched this today, and never relaized how many times God's name is used for cussing at someone (lost my count after five, which is 5 too many).
Bwahahahaha.

I dont consider T3 part of the Terminator series..since it ruined some aspects put up in the first and second films.

I agree with Joker, the complaints are stupid, it's an R rated action/horror movie starring Arnold you should expect violence, sex and bad language. The part I find most laughable is the one about the T-X killing the kids in the third, remember in the first when Arnold killed the other Sarah Conner's? That was pretty brutal as well.

Yes, it was brutal, but not near as explicit as the T-X killing those cops in the squad car. There's a vast difference between violence being used for dramatic purposes, and including a higher gore factor for no genuine reason, other than to senselessly boost a rating.

I love it when people go to see a movie about a homicidal cyborg and complain about all the violence in it.

People have spelled it out pretty well. It's a 1980s' an action franchise. You can't go into them not expecting heaps of gratuitous sex, mindless violence and a good amount of swearing.

The majorty of the complaints are based on personal feelings rather than actual qualms with the movies.

T2 was the best. T3 was okay. Never watched T1.

T1 is just as good as T2 for totally different reasons...T2 was your big action movie, shoot-em-up, special effects movie, and was incredible, even today...T1 was a gritty, sci-fi/horror movie that has everything you could possibly ask for from the genre...sex, violence, swearing...you know, everything a horror movie should have, unelss of course you're you know, insane, and want everyone to be respectful to there elders, keep there language clean, and not fight in your movies about literal homicidal killing machines :o

With all due respect, I created this thread for respectable chat about the Terminator films, not to be insulted. Disagreeing with my opinions is one thing. Referring to either me, my views, or anyone who disagrees with you as "stupid" or "insane" is simply not called for.

Sorry, I calls em like I sees em, and I dont care what you started this thread for..."Tis better to be thought a fool and remain silent than to open your mouth and prove it," words you might want to take into account next time you do something like say that an R-Rated 80's horror/action movie shouldnt have violence or use gods name in vain :o

I never said it shouldn't be violent; i said I didn't approve of the gore. There's a difference. As for the swearing, it's not just in action movies, but in everything. I don't like it when people take God's name in vain...plain and simple.

I will never get it. If your a believer in god then why do you care so much when people use his name in vain? If anything you should be laughing at them since they in your eyes will be judged when they die. If it were to offend anyone it would be god. He should be the only one offended by it, not you nor anyone else.

To stay on topic, I have to agree with The Joker. If you go into a film that is rated R, it is rated R for a reason. I can complain just as much and have my choice/opinion be just as valid as someone with your beliefs/views about there being too many kid friendly movies. Or too many movies that are being watered down for the kiddies when the material wasn't meant to be in the first place. I argue with my Dad on this all the time, he's Catholic. The thing with most religious people is that you believe without a doubt that your god does exist, and I do respect that you have strong faith in yourself and well your faith. The problem is like with my Dad, how most if not all of you are so strong in your opinion you completely and utterly ignore any other opinions without taking anything into account using logic. As well as pushing your beliefs and agendas on others because there "facts".:whatever: People like the Joker and I, have a right to recieve and watch R rated movies, with plenty of swearing, sex and violence.

Thank you...Kritic got it as well, but it seems like everyone else in this thread has been damn near pro-censorship...If you take the gore, swearing, and sex out of Terminator, you get exactly what happened with the Robocop series...watch the third Robocop, and tell me it doesnt make your eyes bleed, it's just that damn bad.

I don't understand why people get so offended by characters saying "God dammit!" or the like.

As for the sex. The 80's was a horny decade and people wanted it and expected it in their movies.

For the gore, it's a fricking action movie. Of course there's gore. Guys are shooting slicing, crushing, blowing things up, etc. to each other
