This reminds me of the T2 game on the NES. That pixel art goodness, though. :atp:

Releases on September 5.

  • Step into a classic arcade experience that pays homage to the Terminator universe with authentic arcade gameplay, music and visuals built from the ground up.
  • Relive iconic moments and forge new paths as Sarah, John and the T-800 in a narrative featuring a mix of classic Terminator 2: Judgment Day scenes and untold Terminator stories.
  • Shoot, sneak and escape the T-1000’s blades in a wide array of levels, and lead the Resistance as John Connor in critical Future War missions.
  • Battle against the full force of Cyberdyne and Skynet’s arsenal, with multiple enemy types and adrenaline-pumping boss fights to take on.
  • See the world of Terminator 2: Judgment Day like never before with detailed 2D sprite artwork of your favourite characters and scenes.
  • Enjoy a cinematic soundtrack featuring recrafted music from the legendary Terminator 2: Judgment Day score and all-new compositions.
  • Aim for the highest rank in each level to reign supreme on your high score table and achieve arcade immortality.
  • Mix things up with multiple different game modes to unlock and choose from: Story Mode, Arcade Mode, Infinite Mode, Boss Rush, Mother of the Future and Level Training!

I love this but I'm curious why they announced it so early since it's a fairly simple 2D sidescroller. That thing looks ready for release tomorrow.

Actually looks pretty decent.

Because what you're seeing is an likely incomplete proof of concept. I'd bet money 90% of what your seeing is unfinished.

We wanted to share an important update on the release of Terminator 2D: NO FATE. The game will now launch on November 26, 2025.

This adjustment is due to ongoing global trade and tariff changes that delayed shipment of the components for our Day One and Collector’s Editions. Because we are committed to launching all editions together, this new date applies to both physical and digital releases worldwide.

I so forgot this was happening.

Looks fun though. Like if Contra and Metal Slug had a baby with Skynet.

I'll be getting this regardless of the delay, looks (and probably plays) like a throwback game from my youth. :D

For the last run of years on Boxing Day I tend to park myself & play a single player game all day, this is an early candidate to be that game this year.. unless it's delayed further.
