Action-Adventure Terminator: Dark Fate

Reading all the reactions from Cinemacon...idk I'm still wait and see. Conventions seems to bring out the hypebeast in everyone and everyone says everything (or most things) look great. They have a good cast and director so I am somewhat hopeful
I still think Salvation had some redeemable traits. Nowhere near T1 or T2 level, but there was enough there to enjoy even if the movie wasn't great.
It was a very good idea and I thought the look of the film was great. And they had a great cast...but overall it just wasn't it. I agree that there was a bit to enjoy.
I really wish that it'd worked out because I think a future set sequel/prequel trilogy is an excellent idea

Do you have a source? I can't find it anywhere.

I can't find confirmation of it either, but there was an F-bomb dropped in the actual footage.

The next scene is on a bridge. A black ooze, very much like the T-1000 but darker and grimier, is reforming into the new Terminator played by Gabriel Luna. He’s after a young woman, played by Natalia Reyes, who is being protected by Davis’ character. Davis says, “When they start to kill me, you run,” to the girl. Who is “they?” Well, it’s the new Terminator. His power is to split and become a second whole Terminator, which looks like a black endoskeleton. At that moment, a truck speeds into the scene. It does an aggressive slide and out pops…Sarah Connor, who has a huge ass gun. She fills the human-looking Terminator with shells, much like the did at the end of Terminator 2, and then takes a bazooka off her back, and uses it to blow the **** out of the endoskeleton Terminator. “Who the f**k is that?” asks the girl. “I don’t know,” says Davis.

I think it will be R but swearing doesn’t really confirm anything though. Even Ready Player One has an F-bomb.

Apparently the current Paramount CEO Jim Gianopulos championed Deadpool when he worked at FOX, so I can't see him putting restrictions on Tim Miller here.

I know it maybe hope talking more than sanity, but I think we may actually get a decent Terminator film here, not original or T2 quality but definitely something that approaches 'the best of the rest' and not far behind the first two.

I'm reading they're going to do young Arnold and John Connor. I seriously hope it's VASTLY superior CGI job than what we saw in other films (Genisys, Rogue One and even 2049). Seriously not a fan of those CGI faces. I'll take a look-alike or even real prosthetic rubber face over unconvincingly done CGI.

If they intended to make a true sequel to T1 and T2, both in spirit and narrative-wise, I struggle to imagine how they were going to do it without R. Sure a studio can always force lower age rating on filmmakers, but it automatically spoils the idea.

Nice to see future scenes are in the film. I wonder if rated separately from the rest of the respective films, can future war scenes of T1 and T2 achieve PG-13 rating by today standards? I think there are multiple deaths on screen, even if not gory.

Yup, he did.
And he's also good friends with James Cameron (having fought for both "Titanic" and "Avatar," which were vetoed by Tom Rothman).

From Collider:
I love the new take on the franchise’s iconic score, which has a more Mexican sound this time around.

Well, WB released The joker trailer the day after it premiered at Cinemacon.
So you never know.

I'll be disappointed if it's not the Terminator theme played by a Mariachi band. :o

I am just wondering what the big stunt/ chase sequence will be.
What are the money shots?

How many Terminators are there supposed to be in this? Seems like they're going the Aliens route of making them more disposable than indestructible.

lol imagine being the guy who opposed the two biggest films of all time and thinking you still deserve a job in this business.

After the last three, I almost certainly shouldn't get my hopes up, but 1) Tim Miller did good with Deadpool, 2) the dude got choked up talking about the movie, and 3) we've got a decent amount of involvement from the original group.

I don't know. I'm hopeful.

Does anyone know how John Connor factors into all of this? Is he dead?

Wikipedia has an actor listed as body double for a young John Connor and it says CG will be used to give him Furlong's T2 appearance.

With regard to Hamilton's return-- Keep in mind she also took weeks of convincing and multiple phone calls to sign up for T2 as well, because she didn't want to damage the first one/do a cash-in. It was what Cameron already had in mind and then her own idea/condition that Sarah had to be driven somewhat crazy etc that got her on board.

Hopefully that all bodes well for this one.
