Action-Adventure Terminator: Dark Fate

Yeah, not like we constantly saw the T1000 getting constantly blown up and shot and torn apart.

Yeah. Mainly in the 3rd act of the film and that's not my point. Its the fact that Davis's character can handle him so easily in the shots shown in the trailers. Dude's getting slapped around like a rag doll. cut in half with chains. Even a old ass terminator pins him to the ground to blasts rounds in his face. I want Rev9 to deliver but damn man. Hopefully he's more of a threat in the film. He's got Davis Hamilton and Arnold to deal with and with every confrontation ive seen(so far) he's getting dealt with lool

I need to see a clip of this 4k visual style you speak of!

Maybe it just doesnt care about taking physical damage. It operates as if it knows its unkillable and will get its target one way or another so why waste energy trying to avoid bullets and chains and fists.

Cameron's visual style has changed in the past couple decades. He prefers a more modern visual style. His approved 4k transfer of T2 was completely scrubbed of grain and had everyone looking like wax. He thinks it looks more "modern" that way.

I watched the red band trailer and it wasnt any better than the regular trailer. I really hope this is just a case of the trailers and marketing being much worse than the actual film.
wasnt the new 4k from the 3D realese? i think they had to remove the grain, lower contrast for the 3D version and then they just realesed this as 4K. i think it looks bad.

but its not just the grain from the film camera. there is something else. Roger Deakins work in Blade Runner 2049 was modern yet it didnt look clean, polished and fake.

How is Luna saying "sorry" in the context of impersonating a friendly guard any different from T-1000 saying stuff like "that's a nice bike" while impersonating a policeman?

If anything the "nice bike" line was more one-liner-esque than Luna just saying sorry.

I actually love that whole bit. Terminators are supposed to be able to believably blend into their environment right? So the way he talked there felt really human in general. Plus it reminded me of that disarming charm that Luna had as Ghost Rider on Agents of Shield.

He's speaking to the audience, 4th wall breaking, it's an apology.

Yeah the 4K release was made from the 3D version.

It's really no different from the other 4K treatments.

This looks a lot better than the last few Terminator movies. But for some reason, the action just looks so uninspired. It looks like two people dancing instead of two machines (or I guess 1.5 machines) trying to kill each other. Too much flipping around in the air, after a while it just stops being interesting.

Too much CGI in the mix, unnecessarily so. Like the slow mo CGI shots of Luna throwing the rod (?) at Davis and it scratching her arm, and her flipping him through the air. It's just too CGI and polished and lacks the grittiness of 1 and 2.

The T-100 says it almost as a threat. Basic Terminator guy sounds genuine. In fact he's done nothing but get worked throughout most of what we've seen so far outside of slicing up some guys we're probably supposed to dislike.

You know what else is ridiculous... asking for a full backstory on a new character from two trailers.

Jesus effing christ, can this forum get any more ridiculous? There is a balance between telling us nothing, and telling us everything about a movie in a trailer. It shouldn't have to be said for crying out loud. It's either one extreme or another in here sometimes and it pisses me the **** off.

I mean... it's a Terminator going after an innocent kid who is the quote unquote chosen one. I don't know what else to really add to it. I'm sure there will be some weird stable time loop twist.

It's actually a good song but it was a weird choice for a trailer like that with action stuff

Have to say, despite my reservations about this, I like both Mackenzie Davis and Gabriel Luna and they seem to be doing a good job with their roles so I hope this is good for their sake. Definitely want to see them in more stuff.
