People really have a problem with that shot or is this all playing?

I think people have a problem with the clips, because their horrible.

The clips are horrible, but I am talking about that specific shot.

They are trying to make him a leading man. Why, I don't know. You see this every once and a while in Hollywood and I am not sure why. But he is a worse version of Sam Worthington, who isn't exactly good himself.

Well we have 3 Avatar sequels in line, so we better start getting used to him again. Its like getting a vaccine for an incoming disease

Well there hasn't been a true american leading man in a while, maybe that's why they are trying with whatever they can

Here's what I do.

I pay for movies I want to see.
I don't see movies I don't want to pay for.

Lol I may go see this with a group to laugh and have a good time with the badness, maybe even a few blue moons afterwards to reflect.

Look....can't we just reboot the whole freaking franchise into something that makes sense and is good? :)

It's official. Best comedy of the year.

This film is just a mess.

My whole thing with this film is that it tries to be to much like the original.

Hit's and Misses -

Superman Returns:

It seems HOLLYWOOD didn't box office message from Superman Returns

Although, REEVE didn't return for Superman Returns due to being dead. Another actor tried and failed to portray him in sort of a reboot/ sequel. This just didn't work on any level and the story wasn't done well also. Being a fan of the Superman Reeve films, as a fanboy I did like the fact that they reused the Superman score in some sort. But it just didn't work.

Terminator Genisys -

Yes, you have Arnold returning to the world of Terminator. But he is in his 70's and that is just not working. If you are going to semi reboot the franchise you could have had a continuation sequel with Arnold as an old Termintaor (as suggested by James Cameron) but not as a timeline shift. You erased the two best Terminator films in the series from doing this one single timeline shift. They tried and failed with Terminator Salvation to continue the story so the only other way would have been to recast and reboot. This would have been a better way.

Mad Max Fury Road-

This is one example of another actor playing an iconic character that was portrayed before working. How do you fill the shoes of Mel Gibson yet continue the series?. You make it an episode! Mad Max works with Hardy taking over the role because Hardy doesn't try to be Mel in any way. Also, fanboy's like me can be happy because you can make your own assumption whether or not it's a sequel or reboot (Miller mentioned reboot a few times and also sequel reboot). However, this reboot/sequel was done in a way that doesn't tarnish the other's by erasing them.

STAR TREK -

I am a fan of the new Star Trek for the record. However, I didn't like the whole timeline shift. Yes, the old films exist on another timeline of some sorts but it takes away that sparkle the original films had. They should have just rebooted instead of the timeline shift. Again, I am a fan but it has tarnished my view of the original films as it doesn't make me want to watch them. Terminator Genisys is trying to copy this timeline shift idea.

Silence of the Lambs -

Julianne Moore took over the role in the sequel that won Jodie Foster some of the highest praise of her career (not to mention an Oscar). Comparisons were inevitable, but Moore doesn’t quite pull it off.
However, this was a sequel and didn't try to be a semi reboot. In my opinion they should have just killed off the Foster character and had Moore her sister. But anyhow!!!

Batman Series -

Don't get me started with trying to replace Keeton. Val Kilmer did a good job and somehow the other bonehead who is acting in Tomorrowland's career survived. But this just didn't work. Just have someone take over the Batman rather than attempting to erase.

You've seen it?

No, but let's face it. The entire story has been shown to us through terrible marketing, a leaked script, bad trailers, bad clips, etc.

need I go on?

I am a big Terminator fan and am hoping for a miracle but i just don't see(with what we have seen) any miracles with this film happening.

I have seen several early trailers with unfinished effects before but not three or four changes to one scene in later TRAILERS. It seems like they are trying though so I will give them that. But sometimes you just can't fix something so doomed.

IIRC, he was turned into a N'avi at the end of the first Avatar, so we won't have to get used to seeing him again. :hehe:

Ya'll tripping. This **** looks amazing

:oldrazz:

Why is it that every Terminator film after T-2 has been trying to be a set-up for more sequels? The first 2 worked so well as stand-alones, why not follow that example?

Because they don't actually have stories to tell, so they are simply trying to make money through the franchise model.

If they wanted to make it a sort of trilogy, i always imagines that the sequel to T-2 could be the final battle between John and Skynet, when he send Kyle back in time. Would open the door for a closed story and exploration of themes not explored in the other films yet. If they keep going like this, the franchise will keep having cliffhangers that are ignored by a following film that tries to act as a sort of reboot.

This place is going to be interesting if this movie turns out to be good.

Sarah Connor Chronicles was doing a good job. :(
I liked it. I never thought it was particularly good, but I liked it. It suffered from the same thing all the other material has since T2. Needlessly convoluted.

It is bound to happen when time travel is a basic premise of your series. It is hard to do. I am thoroughly impressed with how 12 Monkeys is doing.
