Except in T3. He was a T-850, model 101. Hence why he had a hydrogen fuel cell that he threw away in the desert. Sorry, Terminator nerd alert.

:o

Ya that and that he had a Psych 101 understanding of humans that was apparently and upgrade from the T-800. But he was still model 101, just a stronger chassis with small upgrades.

It's been said Arnold Is a terminator and susposilly Is protecting Sarah Connor.Who Is the villain has yet to be mentioned.

If Arnie is protecting Sarah, then what purprose will Reese serve, I wonder? Maybe he's with John for the majority in the future.

Was that ever stated in the movie though? Been a while since I saw it but I only remember the Terminator referring to itself as a different T-101 than the one in T2.

It was never outright stated, but he is an updated Terminator (T-850).

Yep.

Reese AND Connor are coming back to the past?

Yeah I remember reading that in an article, but it was never stated in the movie so may not be true. I just thought the hydrogen power node was added because technology developed further through JD being pushed back.

From the sounds of it only Arnold is being sent back, Reese and Connor are staying in the future for this movie at least, thats my guess.

No it was in the novelization in a scene cut. Also Terminator3.com when you entered it had the schematics of the Terminator and on the official site he was a T-850. That was not guessing, it was canon. If you also look at all the toys and sideshow collectibles it was the T-850. So no. It's not "Maybe" he was a T-850 in T3.

Or sense this Is suspose to be a reboot-anrold as Terminator notwithstanding-Reece doesn't come from future but is present day love intrest of Sarah.

What about people who dont read the official site or dont buy the toys or collectables. The scene was deleted for a reason. Not trying to cause an argument but the GA would have just thought he was a T-800 because it wasnt mentioned in the movie he was a T-850.

Could be, I imagine they are going to change the storyline up somehow, this could be it.

Uh I damn sure didn't know the Terminator in T3 was a T-850. If they didn't say it in the film it doesn't exist to me so whatever. That is my how I always treat films and I see no reason to change.

Find a GA member that knows he's a 800 series. No one does. But if the offical toys, site and so forth call him by his full model number, that is what he was. He's never called a T-800 in T2 so you could say he's not there as well. He only calls himself a T-101 in the film, but he was indicated to be the T-850. Just like in Star Wars there are tons of side characters that are never given names in the film....cough Boba Fett in ESB. It was years until the film gave him his name, but everyone knew his name after ESB because of the toys. Or the few unfortunate few that watched the Holiday Special. Or just the tons of other SW characters that their names are never said but they are canonically given one. Like one of my favs IG-88.

Now is it going to be refereed to people in the GA like that....heck no. Like I said they don't know anything, nor care. I will bet money none of them know the T-800, he was just called the Terminator 99% of the time. That's what they know him as. But officially he was designated the T-850.

http://terminator.wikia.com/wiki/T-850_(Rise_of_the_Machines)

But again 99% of people out there say just The Terminator for him. It never said it in T2 either, so people just have always called him that. But it does not mean he does not have a designation.

Yeah, this is what I was presuming, as I can't see both the Terminator and Reese being sent back to protect. It would be one or the other for that particular task.

I actually know a few GA members who know he is a T-800, my two brothers and my father being the main ones. Also, I am pretty sure it is stated in T2 that it is a T-800, when The Terminator is telling John Connor after the bike chase what he is.

And anyway, even if it wasnt mentioned in T2, people would assume he is the same model as the one from T1, which they would do in T3 as well.

Yeah I would imagine so, maybe Reese is sent back in the next movie or something, if they get that far.

^Maybe there will be a twist and Sarah falls in love with the T-800! Ha ha crazy I know but I think they are going to go a different way than T1, there is a reason they are calling it a re-boot.

Why is there a debate over his model number? 800/850 is the equivalent of like a half upgrade I'd say. Like Windows 98 SE over Windows 98. Who cares? :oldrazz:

The Arnold of this next movie could be a T-900 for all we know with a 101-A skin. A standing for aged. :cwink:

Having Arnold get the girl in this, especially Emilia, would make me feel less manly. :oldrazz:

Haha! :hehe: Though seriously, I'd welcome it trying to be it's own thing with a different take, rather than trying to make a beat for beat and/or closely similar remake to the original series.

Wait... so its been officially announced that Arnold is indeed going to be in this reboot/remake as the Terminator? Seriously?

If so. Dear god its time to move away from Arnold. He's too old for this. Besides im ready to move forward with the franchise and see the future war with man vs machines. No more Sarah Connor running around with little John connor. No more Arnold chasing them or protecting them. Lets see what most Terminator fans want to see. The future war with the resistance vs the machines. Adult John Connor in charge being the human savior.

Even if the do want to reboot/remake this film at least do it with a full new cast. I love Arnold i really do. Im such a fan of the Terminator series. But watching a 60 something year old T-800 chasing or protecting the Connors... just not looking forward to that if that be the case.

What kind of logic is that?

The last details were he was in it. Not that he was going to be a Terminator although it's a good bet he will be. There are plenty of other options too for him to be just another human being but we won't know until they start giving us some details.

What kind of logic is that?
It's the kind of logic that Star Wars and most other multimedia canons use: The primary source takes precedence over every other source. Hence why a huge chunk of the Star Wars EU is now null and void with the new movies.

I assume you knew that though. :woot:

I feel that this is entirely different, though. On all promotional materials, toys, and merchandise, it says that he's a T-850. It's not like they are saying this specific Terminator used to bake pies for the Resistance before he was sent back. It's really not a big deal to accept it instead of "I didn't see it in the movie so it's doesn't exist to me. I don't need to change my mind. Hmmpf."

:o

At the same time I see no reason it's important to mark the difference.

I just saw the toys and stuff. "Oh, cool. He's a T-850?"

There is only so much most people care about canon. I've seen some very complicated and argumentative discussions on what is/is not canon in other franchises (particularly the Alien/Predator one, it's a nightmare by comparison to most I've seen) but most people just don't care about minor details.

Does an 850 have any marked differences from an 800? None that matter to the story or to the audience so outside of Terminator's hardcore fans it's irrelevant.

I like those discussions but most people couldn't care less about something as indistinguishable as his model or series numbers.
