I wish I could understand how you can find a movie like Thor 2 to be the most literally cringe-inducing experience in visits to a theater. Have you only seen like a half dozen or so movies in the theater before?

That you can't find a movie worse than Thor 2 speaks volumes of your taste in movies.

I'm not even trying to defend the movie, opinions vary on it being good or bad, but to call it the worst movie you've ever seen in a theater...? That I can't believe as anything but an overstated opinion.

Anyhow this isn't about Thor 2 but how the hell they're going to get Arnold to look like he did 30 years ago without makeup or CGI.

It's an awful film and I hope it's not representative of Taylor. It fails, aside from its weak villain, incoherent plot, etc because it tries to be funny but isn't. Nudity jokes are simply not funny. A comparably bad movie would be Adam Sandler's The Waterboy, but I watched that at home, not in theatres, so it doesn't play into the comparison. I've seen some worse movies in theatres like Ghost Rider but that just put me to sleep.

that the movie is not representative of Taylor. Even Arnold Schwarzenegger has come out and said so. He said that the movie is nothing like Thor 2 even though it is from the same director, he said the script is interesting, so there's that. We'll have yo wait and see. However, if this movie is as bad as Thor 2, I think that Taylor's career might go the way of McG's. No bad jokes please. A strong villain please. It would be tragic if this were a third consecutive bad Terminator movie.

See I have to get back to you on Clarke as Connor because I've only been exposed to very little of her acting and I want to give her more of a chance by finally watching more than a couple of episodes of GOT.

I totally agree with your "just make a good movie" sentiment. Arnold is box office poison now so the idea that he is going to make this new movie a huge hit is laughable. I hope this isn't another over 200mil project like Salvation for everyone involved sake.

I do think that Arnold was a huge reason for Terminator's success but I think if they carefully and smartly move on from him and get the audience use to not seeing him by making a good movie the series could be successful. And no I don't want a full reboot just a Terminator with a different skin will do.

Yeah, I've only seen Emilia Clarke in GOT, but she really showed range in Season 3, so I'm interested to see what she could do with Sarah Connor.

And it's true; Arnold really is box office poison now, so it really is funny that these movie studios seem to think that inserting him back into a dying franchise is somehow going to save it. The only movies he's been in recently that did well were the Expendables movies, in he's a bit player in those. Sabotage doesn't look bad, but I don't expect it to do well.

I agree they should just get another, younger actor to play the new Terminator.

I agree that Thor II is a horrible film, but frankly, I think that is just Marvel Studios' by-the-books direction rather than Taylor. If you look at all of Marvel Studios' films, with hopefully the exception of Captain America: TWS, it's clear the Marvel Studios has a distinct palette that they do not want to immensely divert from. Thor II is just another representation of Marvel Studios' strong control of their properties, so Taylor is not really to blame for that film IMO.

So far, I haven't heard anything that turns me off about the film. Sure, Schwarzennegger is back, but I think this film will have an immensely different tone than the previous series. Emilia Clarke is a fantastic actress, so I have faith in her bringing a great performance. The time travel element was always the most interesting element of the films for me, so I'm glad they're embracing it once more. I'll wait until a trailer is released before I fully embrace the remake or disregard it, but for now, it sounds completely fine to me.

I disagree with plenty of people without insulting them, although there are times people take my disagreements as an insult at them, ironically enough.

In your case you took my hyperbole that you must have only seen a few movies in the theater and that you must have terrible taste in movies as more literal than it was intended to be, like I still think your calling Thor 2 the worst movie experience, ever.

There is no reason to continue going on over a throw away comment in the first place. As I said, I still think of it as an overstated opinion (kind of the point of my entire post, hyperbole), but if you want to be insulted by it I can't stop that.

The casting of Jai Courtney was disappointing (for the most part he is just dull, and Die Hard 5 was awful), but I'm still really hopeful for this movie. Arnold is my hero, and I love Emilia Clarke. The premise sounds interesting, and hopefully it can be something good. The sad part is how most modern action movies are so forgettable. When I think about T1 or T2, they have some incredible and memorable scenes, but both T3 and T4 were forgettable, even if the third was better.

He's not bad at all, imo. Die Hard 5 should not be the basis to judge anyone on considering McClane/Willis was just about as dull in it, and he's one of the most iconic movie heroes ever. As I've mentioned before, I have more confidence that Courtney will deliver here than Emilia Clarke at this point.

Depends on your definition of "that bad." I don't cringe when watching her act, if that's what you mean. But to me she and Kit Harington are by far the weak links of the show, which is a shame, because they have two of the most central roles of the entire series. And her reviews last year on Broadway were pretty brutal. It's not that she's notably bad, it's just that I have yet to see any evidence that she's actually any good. Before Die Hard, I had seen Jai Courtney in exactly two projects: Spartacus and Jack Reacher, and I felt he acquitted himself well in both of those roles. I was even a little impressed, considering how completely and utterly different those two characters were. As I said, I didn't think he was bad in DH5 (which was also another significantly different character from the roles I had seen him in thus far), just dull because that was the whole movie. And I have also read good things about him in Felony. So from him, despite some of the dubious projects he's taken on, I've seen actual promise and evidence of talent. I personally can't say any of that about Emilia.

She is beautiful, but she has that "girl next door" look, more so then your typical "hot" star.

Didn't Megan distance herself from as Annapurna will no longer be the co-financer? I mean she'll get an EP credit as she and her company started the process but I think it'll be her brother and Skydance who is more involved in this than her.

EXCLUSIVE: In what should be a star making role, Dayo Okeniyi has been set to star in Terminator: Genesis, the franchise reboot for Skydance Productions and Paramount Pictures. And here is some more good news for fans: they have made first plans to shoot three installments to put this saga to rest. The second and third films will be done back to back over nine months. The first film gets underway shortly in Louisiana.

Okeniyi and John Boyega were the two top choices for this pivotal final role, and this came down to a tug of war between stories franchises The Terminator and JJ Abrams and Star Wars, which also wanted Okeniyi to test for one of the leads of that film. Paramount and Skydance’s David Ellison stepped up and the actor unpacked his bags. Okeniyi, who co-starred in The Hunger Games and The Spectacular Now, will play a Steve Jobs genius who figures heavily into the conclusion of the film. He is Danny Dyson, who is also the son of the brainiac cyborg developer played Miles Dyson, played by Joe Morton in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The young man holds the key to technology development that makes Skynet possible. He’s repped by UTA, Sweeney Entertainment, and attorney Joel McKuin.

IMO, i think it would be best if they just ignored T3 and Salvation, those 2 films were lacking in a lot of areas. I know that T3 has somewhat of a following but after watching the film here recently, it still doesn't set well. It felt like they made the film way too over the top just for the sake of out doing T2.
