Former "Doctor Who" star Matt Smith has reportedly scored a major role in the upcoming "Terminator" reboot at Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions.

Smith's role is said to be a major one with a strong connection to John Connor, a role that will grow in the second and third films. It is also said to be the final major piece of casting.

Smith joins the likes of Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Day Okeniyi and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film which is scheduled for release next July.
