And this is why Ellison suing Cameron is ridiculous. Who should be suing Ellison for ripping off their idea? He clearly was inspired by someone else, who in turn was inspired by someone else, going back to pre-history.

There is definitely a line between inspiration and theft but in the minds of Ellison and his defenders, that line starts after whatever he's (re)created in his own vision and anything remotely similar stole from him.

Yeah, this won't go too far for that reason alone. There's nothing wrong with being inspired by a pre-existing idea. Some people just don't know the difference between inspired & copied.

It's insane.

But on the flip-side of things, I'm looking forward to this since Schwarzenegger is back in the game. Without him it just seems like there's a major piece missing.

Sounds more like they asked and he said no.

He said no because they wanted him to direct the script they had. He wanted to develop his own script because of the vow he has stuck to since Piranha 2, so said no.

WHY they wouldnt want the creator of the universe developing his own script for a T3 is anyones guess.

Is this thing following Terminator Salvation in any way? Or is it going to be more of a sequel to Terminator 2? I know it's supposed to be the first in a complete reboot, but considering it's in line with Star Trek (2009) it will have to follow on from one of these 2 storylines.

timeline totally cahnges or did just first 2 films happen before the time travel

This is something I have trouble trying to understand. I have watched the movies a million times and have read quite a bit online about the details of the movie but I feel i need it explained to me better.

So far I understand that the machines had lost the war and in a last ditch attempt they send the T800 into the 80s. Who built this time machine and when? I can't imagine the machines were able to build it in the final moments of realizing they were not going to win so at what point did they build it and if it was long before them losing then why did they build it in the first place and did they use it for other reasons than assassinations?

My other question is when they stormed skynet did they happen to witness the machines sending the T800 back which led to John Sending Kyle back? and how did the humans know how to operate the time machine. From my knowledge the skynet building had always been described as almost alien.

I hope this makes sense.
