Well guys, the MPAA has given an R rating to an upcoming DVD/Blu-ray director's cut. The official rating reasons are "Some violence and brief nudity".

Wait... a director's cut is confirmed? I haven't seen anything about that until this.

I don't know about everyone else, but i'm actually looking forward to this release. Yes, i'd rather have the Blu-Ray, depending on what more they have on it than the DVD release.

I havent heard we were getting a DC for this either, I sure hope so because the movie, while I enjoyed it, needed more to it with the characters and actors, the DC could be the saving grace of this movie, and if it sells like hotcakes, maybe someone will pick up the franchise again.

well, I dont think the rating will bring back terminators instead of throwinators. Im really wondering about the scene that can be considered r for violence

Awesome scene, the type of which was missing in T2 as well as the others, although T3 had a scene like it.

well, T2 had just as much gore, and T3 had some too. in T2 you had people getting stabbed in the eye socket and getting their throat stabbed through. In T3 you had a hand hoing through the guy

I know too many poor movies have been blamed on the writers' strike but I think TS was genuinely hurt by it. If they'd had more time to work out the kinks in the script we could've had a really good movie on our hands. Sigh, what might have been...

I think the film was one or two drafts away from being a great Terminator movie. But the writer's strike was two fold. They were shooting footage while re-writing on set, so things were changing on a daily if not weekly basis. In the end though, the editing decisions is what really hurt the film.

Anyway, look forward to the Director's Cut. Here's hoping they re-insert the footage the film needs.

the first trailer or teaser alone shows scene not included in the movie. Personally I thought Salvation was a fine movie and I really enjoyed it, so seeing a director's cut will be a treat.

man, i would love to see an extended version of this movie...seriously doubt its guna happen tho...its a shame. i liked it how it was, i'm sure i'd like it even more with more scenes put back in it, especially the one cut from the teaser.
does anybody else hate how tv commercials and trailers nowadays show scenes or alternate footage of movies anymore? and i mean a lot...then when you go and see the film, there just seems to be something off...like you were lied to and it somehow becomes less satisfying

Yeah, like what about the part where Marcus walks through a church's ruins and then one of the Terminators tanks rams straight through and he has to hide.

I know they filmed that scene cus it was on a set report.

This movie could've been well over 2 hours.

It emerged he has not been paid fully for his cameo in the latest *Terminator blockbuster. Neither has British actor *Christian Bale, star of Terminator Salvation. The film’s producers named both actors as creditors when they filed for bankruptcy after their hedge fund backers demanded a return on their investment before the film had *finished making money. They say they have been left with debts of more than $40million, despite taking $370 million so far.

The exact sums owed to the stars were not disclosed. Other creditors include MGM, Sony and Universal Studios. The petition was filed by Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek, who own the Terminator franchise. They failed to meet several repayment deadlines set by the principal financier, reportedly a hedge fund based in Santa Barbara, *California.

Hollywood analysts see the case as a sign that investors are now *jittery about the film *business. One, Mike Raia, said last night: “This is a tough lesson for Hollywood, but it can no longer spend other people’s money like water. “Investors want fast returns and may consider movies a bad risk. “Promises of future profits [from DVD sales] just don’t cut it any more in the motion picture industry.”

A source who worked on the film said: “This proves Hollywood isn’t bullet-proof in a down economy.” He revealed Schwarzenegger, now California governor, has been approached by a consortium to jointly buy the *franchise rights, which would guarantee future *Terminator films.

The star’s spokesman admitted: “It would make sense for him to own a name he has made famous around the planet.”

one of the things I really liked in Salvation is that Ironside and Schwarzenegger are together on screen again, first time since Tital Recall. I know its not a real arnold, but stll. Just a cool little nostalgia pinch

Yeah, I was waiting for that scene in the beginning but it just never came, thought that was very strange. Hope we do get a genuine DC and some of these scene's are put back in.

like I said, theres plenty of deleted scenes in the trailer itself. Even Arnold picking up the minigun. If he originally picked it up then there has to be some subtantial action cut out
