I now hate Amazing Atheist/Distressed Watcher because of his Twitter posts. He's a f** & that's serious from me. I try not to use that word on the internet to avoid offending gays.

I never heard of him. What is wrong with him?

He's basically in the same vein as the Critic or the Nerd or Spoony - he's a young man who kvetches about things he hates online. But unlike when the Critic or Nerd or Spoony bash things and say that the people who created them should die in a car fire, you could actually envision him locking people in their cars and setting them on fire.

There have been about three threads on the forums petitioning for his removal from the site.

Yeah, most people playfully bash the movies they review. The Critic especially is so over the top that there's no possible way he's anywhere remotely close to being serious.

TJ, on the other hand, seems to genuinely hate everyone. There's little or no humor to his videos. There's just hatred, vitriol, and a sense of contempt for everyone who'd dare disagree with him. I don't even disagree with him most of the time (though I did think his Star Wars prequel reviews were too emotionally charged). He's just more angry and pompous than he is funny.

And I say that, being a notorious ranter myself.

Ugh, I can't stand his videos. I think I've watched maybe two of them, and that was two too many.

Thanks. I'll make sure to avoid him.

Nah. He's commented on his Twitter about cop hatred, TS3 hatred, Goofy Movie hatred & Penn Jillette hating. The cop one hits home to me. He's a butt pirate.

He... he hates A Goofy Movie?

HOW?!

Anyone watch Spoony's E3 coverage?

What a horrible hotel experience. And something hit me when Noah put the camera back on his bed.

We all just spooned with Spoony. :p

Damn, seriously is there anything that he actually DOES like?

He also calls himself The Amazing Atheist, so I guess he likes being an atheist.

Then again, that's probably technically just a lack of affection for theism.

I liked his 10 best sequels too. Especially the end.

Okay, enough bashing.

Here's a question: does your enjoyment of a video necessarily tie into your attachment to whatever it's reviewing? Because I loved the Short Circuit movies as a kid and so I got a kick out of the Critic's Short Circuit episode, even though I think the writing was a bit weaker than some of his other episodes.

Not for me. Several things that I loved as a kid have been reviewed, and it's never hurt my enjoyment of a review. I might argue a couple of points, but that's just the kind in my trying to explain stuff away. Most things that get said are valid, especially when you start looking at them through their eyes.

I love Dragon Heart, it was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and still kind of is. So watching NChick tear it to pieces wasn't fun for me. But I can't argue that she wasn't making valid points.

EDIT: Okay, fine, I'll take it down. Jesus.

Countdown to banning in 5, 4, 3, 2...

Only video I didn't agree with that NC did was Space Jam. But Looney Tunes: Back in Action is better than SJ anyway, soooo...

C.F. Kane, I once got a probationary ban for posting a video with the B-word in it. No way were the mods letting you get away with that.
