Do you think MJ has any right to be really angry at pete for kissing Gwen with the inverted kiss (in spidey 3)when MJ has technically been doing the same with every dude she has dated up to and including John Jameson to find out whether they are spiderman or not (in spidey 2)?

In a way, yes, because MJ and Peter werent a couple when she kissed John...

Who else has she kissed upside down?

She only has a right because Pete doesn't know about her kiss with John. :o

That's not why she was doing it, or at least that's not what I got from it.

Yeah she should be pissed. The guy did it right infront of her and its not like he had to do it.

it was quite clearly shown to be to see whether the kiss was similar to the one she had with spiderman in the first film

Well regardless of whether they were a couple or not, it was obviously a special moment she shared with spiderman and replicating it in any shape or form without spidey taints it.

as for your question, i'm merely being presumptious that she may have dated more people inbetween harry and john.

JJ wasn't living up to her ideas of her ideal boyfriend and so she was trying to get the passion, from the best kiss she's ever had, into her new relationship, but it didn't work.

sorry but that was obviously not her intentions.

This is supported by her wanting parker to kiss her in the cafe to find out whether he was spiderman or not.

Pete wasn't up side down in the cafe...

he wasn't upside down either at his uncle's grave...

:o

but she realised something then

I don't think she had any right at all. Since when was this kiss so sacred to her? If she can use it on John Jameson, and that was a real passionate kiss, then why can't Peter use it as a publicity stunt?

MJ's an actress. She should have known it meant nothing. Should Peter get jealous when she snogs a guy in any of her plays?

I find it hilarious MJ trying to take the moral high ground like that in SM-3. She snogs Spidey while she's with Harry in SM-1. She tries to get with Peter while engaged to John in SM-2, then jilts John at altar. Then in SM-3, she goes and kisses Harry, a real passionate kiss, while she's with Peter.

MJ has gotten worse and worse in these movies. I don't know why Peter loves her.

But as an actress, she has no choice. As Spider-man he has a choice.

That's a very good point. She came off as very self-centered in the last movie, in particular...

Where's the happy-go-lucky, playful, flirty MJ from the Lee/Romita era?

Of course she has a choice. Nobody puts a gun to her head to accept a role where she kisses a guy. And I say again, the kiss means nothing. Like Spidey and Gwen's.

There aren't a lot of actresses who can 'make' it without on screen kissing...

LOL! Of course there is. Just don't go for roles that involve a romantic love interest.

This point is irrelevant anyway. It's all pretend. Just like Peter and Gwen's kiss. They were posing for the cameras and the crowd. The fact that MJ didn't get that is stupid.

Every movie or play has a romantic love interest, it mght not be the main plot but it's always there.

But Spider-man wasn't asked, "Can you do this for a good pic for the papers?" He was the one that said it... If my memory is right.

Name me a movie or play where every significant female role has to kiss someone.

But Spider-man wasn't asked, "Can you do this for a good pic for the papers?" He was the one that said it... If my memory is right.

No, the crowd starting shouting "Kiss her". It wasn't Spidey's idea at all.

these types of threads aren't no fun when myself and ock are on the same side...

LOL! Actually, it might make from some interesting reading :cwink:

Love Actually... lol.

Well, I guess MJ can avoid that one, then. Plenty of other movies to choose from.

And he didn't say no... Does Superman go round kissing everyone? :whatever:

Why should he say no? It was a PUBLICITY stunt. Jesus Christ, it didn't mean anything. He was kissing her in front of hundreds of people and cameras. Hardly a romantic and intimate moment.

He wasn't secretly kissing her in a back alley or in a cafe, was he?

And since when is one girl everyone?? You're confusing Peter with MJ, who has to kiss at least 2 guys per movie.

So you're telling me you would have no problems if (lets say)Spider-girl was your girlfriend and she kissed a dude upside infront of you knowing you were there? Its outright disrespectful. I could see if it was planned or whatever, but it was a spur of the moment thing.

If she was on stage, being given the key to the city, the crowd was cheering it on, and I loved and trusted her, then I would have no problem with it.

It's all for show. Nothing more.
