I heard that that Zoom movie about the former super hero who teaches young super heroes at a privat academy, is based on a graphic noval. The creator lost the rights to it, and the movie studio totally changed everything until only the name was the same.
I'm not planning on seeing the movie.

Ehm, well that AND that all the kids have the powers of FF...

have no fear, Buzz lightning is here...

PLZ, can't this guy make a normal movie again...?
And I saw the trailer, it's the dumbest **** I've ever come accross in a long time.
Superhero's flying in UFO's, your superpower being having an inflatable ass? WTF

BTW this was based off a comic? i thought it just was a lame attempt at a moviescript. :(

I don't like to pre-maturely decide anything yet, but yes, major arse suckage seems to be this movie's quality.

I saw the movie. I liked it. Two reasons:

1) Good actors.

2) GREAT one liners.

The movie was, funny, and it went to great efforts to sublte try and convince adults (and comic buffs) not to take it too seriously. It was, in some ways, a spiritual successor to the Incredibles... with a little less heart and a lot more funny.

3) the movie downplayed it's weaknesses well...
Tim Allen is not an Oscar Actor, he's a TV Actor. He's also a cynical sarcastic middle aged man. Guess who his character is? Just that. It was a kids movie, and not a high budget one either... and so it flashed a little cartoony symbol to change scenes (60's Batman style) to deflect an comparing light kiddie fare to heavier, theme and empathy-laden Spider-Men 2 and Batmen Beginning. The kids took a lot from the FF, but remixed it so that it was basically LSH's Invisible Lad, Jean Grey, Molly from Runaways and some guy that turned super-fat and only in a cursory way an FF rip off.

I went, expecting to see a dumb kids movie and I laughed my butt off. Think of it like the generic brand Incredibles. "If you liked Incredibles you'll LOVE Zoom."

If you think EVERY superhero movie should be of the same style and quality of the Spider-Man Franchise or Titanic or something, stay away. You'll be miserable, and the laughter surrounding you will only infuriate you more.

I know it isn't supposed to be as good as spiderman. It still looks terrible.
Only has about 10 mil so far.

Argh. Box Office only tells you how many other people have seen it, not whether you personally will like the movie.

And it DOES look terrible... it's just a good movie anyway. :)

Would That Super Fat Kid" 's Power Be Bouncing Ig So Hes An Homage To Dc's Bouncing Boy And Marvels Speedball

Didn't we already see this movie under the title "Up, Up & Away"? Or am i thinking of "Sky High"? Or "The Incredibles"?
Spoof a genre enough times & the genre itself starts to lose credibility.

i think you ARE thinking of sky high

TIm Allen needs to make a good movie. A character like Harrison Fords in Hollywood Homicide could work well for him

Sky High and The Incredibles were good movies.
Up, Up & Away was not. It even made references to both DC and Marvel comic super heroes and characters and that couldn't save it. And aluminum foil is one of, if not the dumbest weaknesses ever conceived.
Haven't seen Zoom, so no comment on that one except that Kevin Zegers is hot and the redheaded girl and invisible guy are cute.

My point was that I'm a little tired of this kind of movie. sooner or later all these spoofs will hurt the genre as a whole. It already has, as so many people insist on regarding "The Incredibles" as part of the superhero canon.
