the 10 worst films of 2007

and i liked transformers too :woot:

though i didn't like FantasticFour 2 at all... :csad: silver surfer was the only neat part....

Am I the only one that thought Alpha Dog was rather lame?

Timberlake, and the whole cast were completely wack. Why i watched a movie full of white boys acting like *****s, is beyond me. Worst movie i've seen in a while. Glad i didn't pay for it. Saw it ONDEMAND.

I didn't watch so many 2007 movies, as I enjoy old movies. But Transformers, Ghost Rider, FF 2, Saw IV were pretty lame for sure. And for Transformers, I do not base my opinion on Shia LaBoeuf, but on the general borefest the movie was.

We may be the only two that actually feel that way about TF. I thought Shia was the best thing about the movie..well, Megan Fox was good eye candy..and that saved it from being on my worst list for this year..but the struggle between the bots just completely lost my interest.

And on Alpha Dog, I had no intention of going near that movie, but my boss lent me it to me, and I have to say, I was quite surprised. Timberlake actually did a good job. And yeah, it was about an annoying group of wanna be gangster, spoiled punks but wasn't that the point? There was really no one in that movie you were supposed to like..and it's kind of a lesson about that lifestyle. The whole time I wanted to shout to my TV, "will you lossers get a life and be productive members of society?!" The moment I realised I was frustrated, was when I knew the movie was effective. Every one of those characters had a hand in their fate. It was tragic, but there were no innocent victims. Based on a true story too.

Ghost Rider
National Treasure: Book of Secrets
Were the top worst 2 for me.

hot rod was a work of comedic genius...

and no, i'm not kidding. it's easily the funniest movie i've seen this year, or even the last few years.

- Resident Evil: Extinction
- Epic Movie
- The Hills Have Eyes 2
- Ghost Rider
- Code Name: The Cleaner
- War
- Primeval
- The Hitcher
- Hannibal Rising
- Pathfinder

Horrible. :down

I was actually surprised that I enjoyed HHE2. It was junky and disposable, but not completely dull. Far more entertaining than most horror remakes these days... Somewhere around a 6 or so out of 10.

And Pathfinder was too darn funny to get much bile from me. That bizarre bear scene, the accidental slaughtering of the entire Indian army, and the underwater mentoring bit were so damn funny. It's definately a failure, but not to the degree that the majority of your list is.

You're right, Pathfinder was hilarious. :D

It's one of those movies that you sit with your friends and just joke the hell out of it. Sorta like MST3K'ing it.

Totally! I was so glad I watched it with two friends and not by myself. We still quote the Indian mentor's underwater line "What do you know about being dead?". He sounded like an old Jewish vaudevillian. And what was the purpose of that bear?

My list, alphabetical order:

30 Days of Night
4: Rise of the Silver surfer
Balls of Fury
Disturbia
Ghost Rider
Halloween
I Know Who Killed Me
Resident Evil: Extinction
Spider-Man 3
War

:lmao:

I know it's not on the list but Superbad is not the funniest movie critics made it out to be, I was expecting Porky's style raunchy nastiness and instead we get a Pretty In Pink coming of age teen movie.

Wasn't raunchy enough? Please. :whatever:

Bratz: The Movie
I haven't seen this film I only saw the trailer in theatres but I can safely say that this film is total suckage. Just as soon as the trailer started I could tell that it was going to be a Mean Girls ripoff by the way they set up the cafetria tables scene with the jocks, nerds, etc; ripped right off of Mean Girls. And honestly, this film's like an advertising promo designed to seduce more little girls to buy these crappy ass dolls that this film is based off of.
#2
Epic Movie
...what the hell were they thinking...? What the hell...? This film is honestly one of the biggest crappy films in the history of history. Of course that's just my opinion, and yeah, it is. But it's also a mother-freakin' fact, that this genuine ripoff of summer blockbusters called Epic Movie is one of the most god awful movies ever made. Although it is a spoof movie, the least it could have is a little sense of decency and creativity like the first Scary Movie as well as Airplane; the hit comedy that started the whole line of spoof movies in my opinion. What you can't connect with in this film are the characters, you can't connect with them because they're just so stupid, and if they died in the film, you obviously wouldn't care.
#3
The Invisible
The whole movie is just one big trick. If you watched the trailer before you saw this movie; then you'd realize how lame this film really is and how it was nothing like they showed it to be in the trailers(check the thread entitled The Invisible... The Most Misleading Trailer Ever Made' in this same forum for more information on this matter). But not only that, the film was just poorly developed. I mean, I was literally laughing my ass off through the entirity of the film. The acting is horrible, the story is horrible, the characters you cannot connect with, etc. This film is a sure-fire contender for being on my list of the worst films of 2007.
#4
Ghost Rider
I personally didn't know what to expect with this film but personally, I believe that it is one of the worst comic-book films ever made so far. The whole process of this film was just mediocre; especially the action sequences where you could easily predict the 'kill one bad guy at a time' trend. The love story was horribly done, the villain is un-inspired and un-original, the story is just lame, etc. This film just overall disappointed me, I expected an awesome action flick when I saw the trailer for it but instead I got an action film that failed to exceed my expectations.
#5
War
Oh my god, not like I havn't seen this before. This actioner starring two of today's biggest action stars: Jet Li and Jason Statham. This mediocre, clache installment to the action genre is one big imbusile. It's filled with so much cheese that not even the action can save it(because the action sucks). But the main thing that I hate about these films are the fact that they do not have any flippin' character development. They just introduce their characters to the screen and on with the movie. So really, whenever I watch these kind of films I also think to myself: 'What if this character dies? Would I really care?' And basicly if there's no character you can connect with in the flick then there's no purpose for the film to even exist.

Worst movies I've seen this year (not meaning the worst of the year, but pretty bad, still):

-Ghost Rider
-300
-Pirates 3
-Fantastic Four 2
-Shrek 3
-Transformers
-Resident Evil 3
-Saw IV
-The Mist

That was just in the order I saw them, mostly and not in order of dislike.

Spidey 3 is the biggest let down for me.. too much bling..not enough substance.

While true it remains extremely far from the worst movie of the year list

my bottom five are

5. Pathfinder
4. War
3. I know who killed me
2. Hitman
1. Ghost Rider

Whilst I do agree with you there, can you say its the worst without seeing it? I mean it could be a misrepresented classic of modern cinema for all we know.

at least according to fhm so take it for what its worth

10.I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry
9.Southland Tales
8.hot rod
7. i know who killed me
6. good luck chuck
5. norbit
4. the number 23
3. Code Name: The Cleaner
2. Because I Said So
1.Who’s Your Caddy?

i've only seen 23 and it was utter crap with one of the most obvious twists i've seen in ages.

anyone admitt to have seen the others
I saw Chuck and Larry, I Know Who Killed Me, Norbit, 23, and Who's Your Caddy.

I actually liked Chuck and Larry...at times...even Norbit had a few good laugh-out-loud moments in it. I didn't think The number 23 deserves to be on the list either, but it was still by far, not a great film. Who's your caddy and I know who killed me, I think are right where they should be. I have no idea why Daddy Day Camp and Bratz aren't on that list.

-TNC

Of all the movies I saw in '07, my only let down was Spider-Man 3. Hell, I took my 10 year-old daughter and her friend to see Enchanted, and I didn't feel as disappointed. That's really sad.

Chuck and Larry was not one of the 10 worst films of the year

Ghostrider
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Resident Evil: Extinction

Pretty much the worst movies I saw this year.
