The 80s/90s cartoons thread...

voltron i thought was 70s

Trust me, it came out in the 80s; it was 1984 to be exact. Don't get it mixed up with Star Blazers which did come out in the late 70s...

I watched both as a kid. :yay:

Star Blazers!!! I loved that one to. I watched it in syndication (early 80's).

alot of 80/90s cartoons are overrated if you look at their whole series as a single entity

however as individual episodes, there were some really fantastic ones out there....

You mean compared to today's animated series'?

Yeah, ok....

Dude, I wish they had a cartoon back in the 80's that was based on Val Armorr's adventures!

Well all the cartoon's you've listed can't really hold a candle to justice league unlimited's second season so......yeah.

They were all far far far too simple plot wise and continuity wasn't really necessary.

I have 1 word for you:

GARGOYLES

Gargoyles rocked.

80s favorites -

From the same folk who gave us Thundercats. Maybe not in the same league as Thundercats, but still a fun show in its own right.

I loved JLU S2, but Robotech and even Voltron had a very deep story through the entire series run,not just a single season. I think they were deeper and more dramatic then JLU.

I'll give you JLU, but most animated series today are just kinda "...blech."

I mean...Ben 10? Whats that?!

I've got a question for all of you:

Could the SilverHawks take down the Thundercats, and could they further take out the Storm Hawks?

Also, who was hotter, Cheetara or Steelheart?

Not really familiar with the Storm Hawks. It's too late at night for me to even begin thinking up of a Silverhawks VS. Thundercats debate.

Also, who was hotter, Cheetara or Steelheart?
Cheetara, but Steelheart was hot in her own right (hard to believe she was voiced by Maggie Wheeler, the nasal voiced Janice of FRIENDS).
