I've never even heard of this until they announced they were making a film. I know this is bigger in the rest of the world than here. But I'm looking forward to stuff being released.

I am a huge fan of tintin. My mom used to read it to me when she'd teach me french...so I'm super excited for this and I love how they're making it photo realistic yet very cartoon looking. I've always wondered why studios never attempted to make an animated film like this

there were some rumors or some info that Guardians cost 200. it was very realistic and feathers are complex.

if TinTin is so detailed i wouldnt be suprised if its close to 200

135 MILLION?!?! is that a joke?! this had to of cost more than that!

anyways this is looking really cool. definately excited for this one and THANK GOD robert zemeckis isn't directing this. speilberg and jackson will do this justice! :woot:

I'm tempted to agree, but how much did they pay actors? Also Jackson kind of owns Weta, I know he pays his staff well but its not like there'd be some huge markup though.

It's funny that Tintin is not that well-known in America. He's probably the most famous comicbook character in Europe. There's hardly anyone here who doesn't know him. And righteously so, I absolutely adore those comics, they're huge classics. I re-read them quite often.

I highly doubt this. Gaurdians was not made to look photo real at all. TinTin IS made to look photoreal so I'm sure regardless of how much Gaurdians really was TinTin ultimately will cost much more.

UPDATE: Wiki states Gaurdians was $80 million which sounds about right

So this movie is pretty much guarenteed to be a massive success worldwide. Here I have no idea how it could do. Depends on the marketing and footage.

ONLY ONE PIC LEFT!!!!!!

I have celebrated this evening with watching the animated series; the black island and tintin in tibet to be precise. the tintin cartoons are in a league of there own to say the least :D

I see a little mole/bump on his neck. They're really shooting for the skin texture.

Is this seriously CGI?!

How...how...HOW?! THIS IS BLOWING MY MIND! The hair looks so damn real!

That hair! That piece of the shirt! Holy crap!

i think the imagination is doing all the work here. while it looks good i dont see whats so special about this CGI in 2010.

after the whole pic i think it will nto look so realistic anymore to some here.

It'll be the face that does it. We've seen realistic hair in CG before, but in motion is gonna be the test.

:wow:

Is this real life? [/David after dentist]

The final piece is up but no full picture yet. I'm happy with what I'm seeing so far.
