The Adventures of Tintin

final pic is out. it looks like 100% the same hairstyle like in the comics. interesting.

Yeah, there is no way they could have pulled off that hair in real life without it looking kinda goofy, a la hair gel.

I noticed all the current pictures of Tintin's head went together rather well, so I Photoshopped them together, drawing in any empty areas, and silhouetted it to try to get a good idea of what his facial structure might be like. It's probably not entirely accurate but I thought it would give a good idea of what we might be seeing.

I think Empire said on twitter that the full photo would be on the cover of their next issue.

So the question is, when does Empire release their new issue?

it can be done rather easily imo

from a swedish sitcom

so theres actually no need at all for cgi

Any idea on when we will see the full picture?

i think the imagination is doing all the work here. while it looks good i dont see whats so special about this CGI in 2010.

after the whole pic i think it will nto look so realistic anymore to some here.
If the face looks like I think it will I bet a lot of people will react negatively to it.

Cover is now up on Empire's site:

I like how the skin and hair textures are photo-realistic, but the actual appearances of the characters are stylised and cartoony. I think the Robert Zemeckis school of photo-real computer people tend to just come across as creepy. Animation should be at least a little stylised.

They've done a good job with the designs! I'm pleasantly surprised. I can't wait to see more pictures and to see some moving images.

The look is very classic Tintin but the CG at the moment does look more like Beowolf and not the kind of photorealistic imagery we saw in Avatar. It's hard though to be overly critical of stills of a 3D/CG film that's still a year away from been completed.I bet by that time we'll be seeing footage and it will look much much better.

There's a lot of talent behind and in front of the camera so i have faith we'll get a good movie that's also faithfull to the source material. Jackson and Spielberg are giants in the biz so hopefully their names will give the TinTin brand the push it needs to become a hit in the USA and not become another Golden Compass.

Wait...this is animation? I thaught it was live action. This is the same tipe animation as Polar Express, and A Christmas Carol. FOK!

Looks good. I'm a big fan so Istill believe it's gonna be a great movie.

Well, it looks like the characters, that much I will give them. Haddock's nose is probably what gives it the surreal look of the comics, and Tintin's baby face is definitely present. Still waiting for more though.

Agreed.

I think people were definitely jumping the gun when they were talking about this having better effects than Avatar. It's better than Zemeckis's films with CGI but not a huge difference.
