Dunno, maybe. But it's just I'm so familiar with Henri Labussière's voice as Calculus/Tournesol/Tuhatkauno which is so different from Hurt's deep voice. Labussière voiced the professor in the 90's animated show.http://akas.imdb.com/name/nm0479772/

Yeah to me they should just use the voices from the animated show, which did a pretty good job at adapting the stories.

There are so many different tranlations of Tin and all of the characters have different names.
In Dutch Tin TIn is Kuifje , his dog Snowie is Boby , the captain is Kapitein Haddock.

The Italian names are the same that in France. Tintin, Milou, Haddock and the Dupont. Only Tournasol has been slightly adapted and he's called Tornasole.

if they do as good a job as they did with Gollum and King Kong, holy hell, the visuals is worth the price of admission alone

I used to read this a lot, especially when my mom was trying to teach me French. There was a film on this, low budget, it was probably made in Belgium or France...I cant wait to watch this movie, Im excited

I'm very curious what stories they will use...
I always loved The secret of the Unicorn, but I don't know if it's really suited for a big budget movie. But they will probably mix some of the stories and bring some new elements in it.

Moffat Writing DreamWorks' Tintin

British scribe Steven Moffat is writing DreamWorks' Tintin, the movie trilogy collaboration from Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg that adapts the European comic strip created by Herge, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Moffat is best known for penning the new "Doctor Who" series and the BBC's "Jekyll."

In the comics, Tintin is a young Belgian reporter and world traveler who is aided in his adventures by his faithful dog Snowy. He later was joined by such colorful characters as Captain Haddock, Professor Cuthbert Calculus and bumbling detectives Thomson and Thompson.

Kathleen Kennedy is serving as producer on the three feature films, which will be made using performance-capture technology and produced in digital 3-D. Jackson and Spielberg are each directing an installment, with the helmer of the third movie to be determined.

Moffat Writing DreamWorks' Tintin

this should be interesting. I can't wait to see the reaction of the world wide critics for mr moffat after the Doctor who fans thinking he's the second coming!

Spielberg Talks Indy 4, Transformers & Tintin!

In addition to Transformers and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, the industrious director talked about Tintin, a project he’s working on with Peter Jackson, based on the popular graphic novels by Belgian artist Hergé. He said that as of now there are only two directors with Jackson directing the first installment, himself directing the second movie, and if they don’t hire another director, the two would co-direct the third. Jackson will shoot his movie in New Zealand and Spielberg will shoot in the States, and Spielberg said the two are very collaborative and that the film will be using motion-capture, which is still new to him.
