have you notice how they always cut away of their faces when they talk? hawe you f... noticed how in a 2:30 minutes trailer they showed only 2 close up shots of characters talking?

They do that in live-action trailers. What matters is that those close ups look way beyond any of the Zemeckis mo-cap movies. Spielberg isn't big on close ups in his films anyways. And more importantly, the story looks great.

this is it. no denial here. they are afraid showing close ups of the faces. and talking.

a: the animation doesnt work
b: there are not close ups when they talk.

Or C, the most logical answer, Weta hasn't finished the animation yet. Anyways so far I'm pretty impressed by The CGI, but much more intrigued by the story. This seems like a really interesting film plot wise and alot of fun!

This doesn't apply to me. In fact before mo-cap movies were even a thing I thought about such movies existing and was excited for them. I was very excited for Beowulf. But now as more of them come out I just think they're a bad idea. Only Avatar has made it work, and that sort of doesn't count.

No, but I didn't expect him to have the eyes of a 3-year-old either.

Why wouldn't Avatar count? Large chunks of that movie featured only characters made using the exact same technology by the exact same company. How is that not proof that the technology can work to create effective characters?

because no director on this planet will get the same budget and 2 years of post-production like Cameron. and right now this is the only way to do this kind of good CGI. you need money and time. a lot.

I think the cg looks fantastic, all the characters look great and I'm really excited to see this. I have no idea what the hell Tintin is but it looks like a really fun adventure movie.

I have never being bothered for seeing any of Zemeckis' mo-cap stuff, partly 'cos I thought it looked rubbish and partyl 'cos I was never interested in the film.. but Tin Tin looks like a vast improvement on what they did for them movies... it looks good.

At first I was sort of 50/50 on if I would bother to see this at the cinema, 'cos I was never really a big fan of Tin Tin but that new trailer has completely sold it to me. It looks great. The story, the action, even the cgi all look great.

I look forward to it, but I fear it may be a box office bomb. It's got quite a budget.

In the States, I won't be surprised at all to see it bomb. I think the thing that will possibly keep that from happening is all the big names attached to it. I think, internationally, it's going to be a big hit regardless of what it does in the States. The property is big almost everywhere else in the West, and with all those huge names that's also big pretty much everywhere else, I think it will fine even if a domestic bomb.

I loved the trailer. It's bloody fantastic and I will be there opening day. Say what you want, but this could be set to be one of my favorite films of all time the way it's going.

it does. its 100% classic Spielberg and my favorite moment in the trailer.

Tintin has been in post-production since March 2009. Not too mention, Avatar's trailer looked worse than this has so far.

I am not at all sold on this new adaptation :

- Tintin face looks way to much girly ( someone said Cherub )
- Mix of 2 different books ( Golden Crab and Secret of the Unicorn/Red Rackham )
- Captain Haddock characterization looks different than the books/TV Show ( no typical Haddock ranting in the trailer ).

That's kind of unfair as it's only a trailer. You can't get a handle on the character from 2 minutes of quick cuts.

I think it looks alot better then the first trailer for Avatar, but the second trailer was pretty damn good looking. I think the CGI in this is quite impressive, but I still don't think it'll look better then Avatar.

That's three comic books, actually.

Anyway, that's not the point; the point is that I think this film is only adapting from The Crab with the Golden Claw and The Secret of the Unicorn. Judging by the trailer, it looks like there isn't anything from Red Rackham's Treasure and add to the fact that Professor Calculus is absent from this film.

I only watched one trailer for Avatar, and it looked very cartoony and fake. (Reminded me of Space Jam.) Then the movie came and was the most realistic thing I've seen.

I think they went a little overboard on Captain Haddock's nose. He looks like a Jim Henson muppet.
