The Adventures of Tintin

That's three comic books, actually. :cwink:

Anyway, that's not the point; the point is that I think this film is only adapting from The Crab with the Golden Claw and The Secret of the Unicorn. Judging by the trailer, it looks like there isn't anything from Red Rackham's Treasure and add to the fact that Professor Calculus is absent from this film.

Graphic novels as my fellow US citizen call them :) I should have said mix of 2 stories.
No Calculus is also a minor bad point in my book and if the sequel isn't Red Rackham I don't see the point of mixing Golden Crab with Secret of the Unicorn ( wow the acronyme is almost **** ).

I will wait for the French trailer maybe it will change my mind ( proper voice is critical to me and Tintin always spoke French to me ).

Eh, graphic novel to me is for people who is ashamed to say comics/comic books. :p

I'm not sure but I think it's possible that the sequel will be a mix of Red Rackham's Treasure (to introduce Professor Calculus to the audience) and, as rumored, Prisoners of the Sun (in which Prof. Calculus plays an important role).

Does the part where Captain Haddock says "Oh dear" while riding in the motorcycle just scream The Last Crusade to anyone else?

I get the feeling he might be modelled on Sean Connery, what with the Scottish accent and the way he introduces himself: "Haddock. Archibald Haddock."

I don't recall Haddock had a Scottish accent in the books. His voice seems a bit high up and small to how I've always imagined the character. I would've preferred a deeper voice (like Connery's).

Not sure how that can work though. Prisoners of the Sun is the sequel to The Seven Crystal Balls (which sets up the whole plot for Prisoners). Red Rackham's treasure would be the continuation/ completion of the plot set up by Secret of the Unicorn.

It's best to save Seven Crystal Balls/ Prisoners of the Sun for its own movie.

Someone is going to ask how he gets his hair to do that without product.

Watch "There's Something About Mary."

And I would add : what is the point of the movie if it ends without them finding the Unicorn and the treasure which also leads to Captain Haddock getting back Moulinsart the castle of his ancestors ( that is nitpicking I confess ).

Funny, when I read Tintin ( or even in the anime ) I imagined Haddock with a deep/bass voice especially when he is ranting/insulting people ( the Haddock style insults ).

Also, Tintin hair cut is magical.

I said Red Rackham's Treasure because that is Professor Calculus first appearance and you do know that Anthony Horowitz is actually writing the screenplay to the sequel, Prisoners of the Sun? So I'm not really just speculating here. And anyway that is the beauty of adapting the comics, they (gasp :shock) don't have to be 100% accurate to the comics.

BTW, I was right, it looks like Sakharine is the main villain after all. :yay:

I'm thinking the movie will end with them finding the treasure, minus the whole going to the island part, going underwater and Prof. Calculus etc.

This movie will be awesome and amazing, face it folks it's not Imagemovers and this will improve on Zemeckis's stuff as it's from WETA who gave us amazing mocap on Avatar, King Kong and LOTR and will be the first Mocap animated movie on humans to get rid of the so called dead eye problem and get it right this time.

I did liked Beowulf and Christmas Carol but this will will blow them away. I grew up with the TinTin cartoon back in 1990 when i was 9 years old on HBO.

it looks like Peter Jackson had great fun in 2009 and told Spielberg about it. people got crazy for Jackson. what will happen with Spielberg?

I wish I could go to Comic-Con this year; Refn, del Toro and now Spielberg will be there. :csad:

everything will be on youtube. and you will not need to whait outside

I've been highly impressed with the scenes we've seen so far in the film.

The panel sounds fantastic, I wish I could have been there.

Hearing the positive reaction to the footage, definitely reduce my worries about the motion capture direction of the film. I really think this will turn out great. :yay:

Spielberg seems to like motorcycles with sidecars.

I didn't expect him to appear in this movie, however it's great that they at least confirmed it . But if a sequel to Tintin happens, then Prof. Calculus should appear in it.

Love it. I wish these types of posters were more prominent nowadays.

This is definitely one of my most anticipated for the remainder of the year along with Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
