Rumor: The Adventures of Tintin: Prisoners of the Sun may be the second film?

The website Omelete found a post at On The Go informing of a promotional appearance by London author Anthony Horowitz.
The attached bio indicates Horowitz “will be writing the screenplay to the second Tintin film, Prisoners of the Sun.”


It would make sense if the sequel is Prisoners of the Sun because it looks like professor Calculus isn't in The Secret of the Unicorn and Prisoners of the Sun could be his introduction to the big screen. I really hope that Jackson adapts both The Seven Crystal Balls and Prisoners of the Sun, as the latter is the sequel to The Seven Crystal Balls.

It's weird that professor Calculus isn't going to appear in the first movie, I really love that character and I thought that they're adapting all three The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn and Red Rackham's Treasure into one movie, and professor Calculus appears in Red Rackham's Treasure.

Anyway having him introduce in the sequel that would be adapting from The Seven Crystal Balls and Prisoners of the Sun would be a great, although mixing The Calculus Affair into it would be cool.

Since they release a few pics, I thought that maybe a trailer wouldn't be too far away but it looks like we may have to wait a bit longer for some footage.

But they better hurry up and release a trailer soon because for the Europeans, the movie is coming out in 6 months.

A trailer attached to Cars 2 isn't far fetched.

How about a trailer that is attached to any of Spielberg produced films such as Cowboys & Aliens, Super 8, Transformers: Dark of the Moon or Real Steel?

Those are all also places to put them. In fact, I bet it's one of those. Could be TF or Super 8. Cars 2 will probably be a hit. It could be the one that will attract the most kids. Not saying this is just for children, but they make up a good portion of the grosses and are a driving force for a film's success.

Cars 2 and Transformers are almost guaranteed to be the biggest hits of the four (regardless of quality), so they're probably the best candidates to pair the trailer with.

And Spielberg's connection with the latter so yeah, it's possible.

They're starting to promote this film at the Cannes Film Festival. Hopefully this means that a trailer isn't far away.
