They're starting to promote this film at the Cannes Film Festival. Hopefully this means that a trailer isn't far away.

Blistering barnacles! That's ****ing awesome! :D

Awesome, awesome, awesome.

Awesome :awesome:

That film title needs to be changed to TINTIN, MOTHERF***ERS now. With Samuel L Jackson playing Tintin.

i think Cannes only has posters. i dont think any trailers are realesed.

They've been holding back for a good minute as far as any footage goes though. If the motion is fluid as Avatar, that's what I'm waiting to see.

Expect a trailer after Cannes. Or after it screening. So within this month perhaps.

I didn't write that a trailer will release at Cannes. I just wrote that since they're starting to promote the film, hopefully this means that a trailer will come soon.

Freaking sweet, it's probably too much to ask considering it's still quite early at this point but I'm hoping to see some footage.

Here's my question . . . are people actually going to see this movie? I know Tintin has a long international following but I mean . . . c'mon, Tintin?

Look what happened with Beowulf and Mars Needs Moms.

No, we're all just pretending to be excited to see it.

Your avvy is judging me. Like it already knows something...

That's the thing. You know they'll market the hell out of it as "A Steven Spielberg Film."

WW this will do alot better. But it has the potential for here. The trailers and marketing has to be impressive.

I can see this making maybe 140 mil in US mainly because of Spielberg and the December release date and then over 400 mil overseas

I have no doubt that people will watch this film. Tintin is one of the most popular comics around and its appeal is timeless.

The only thing I'm worry about is the audience in America, they're generally not familiar with the character, but with Spielberg and Jackson behind this must , surely, get some people interested in this.

Spielberg movies have bombed here before ;) . See AI, Munich, 1941.

And man, Indy 4 . . . damn.

Indy 4 shouldn't have much an effect on this?

In fact, the fourth film was the second highest grossing film of 2008 (behind TDK) people seemed to like it. If everyone thought it sucked, it would have dropped like a stone. For a film that received with mix responses, it did very well.

Seeing as how Super 8, another film which Spielberg is attached to, is being released in June, I can see them attaching a trailer to that movie to pique everyone's interest.

If Super 8 ends up being good, then everyone will be like, "Hey, remember that trailer for Tintin that played before Super 8? That was also directed by Spielberg. We should see that when it comes out."

TheVileOne is expressing a severe case of;

I liked it when I saw it in theater, I like it now. A lot of people like it.

It was a successful film. Deal with it.

If the trailer's coming out soon, it being attached to Super 8 is a safe bet.
