I like the atmosphere, this is not a must-see for me but I may check it out if I get the chance.

Looks pretty cool.
I wish it was longer.

I never read a Tintin comic. Are they pretty violent. I always assumed they were kinda G rated didnt know there were guns and stuff

Tintin is harmless, you can read them at 8/10 years old or even less.

The people commenting on the front page on this are such ignorant worthless trolls. Someone actually said "And who titled this? The Secret of the Unicorn?"

Not to mention most of them just sound afraid to like something they aren't instantly familiar with. Morons! Stupid gits!

Because they disagree with your opinion?

which is why hollywood is not doing original movies and only comicbook and book adaptations.
its not their fault that the general public is not more open to original ideas.

I'm OK with calling the people who post in the comments on the main site stupid gits, regardless of what their opinion is.

We're all just hypocrites because we crave drama. We want originality and something we've never heard of, yet when we get it, we ***** because we've never heard of it.

I don't complain about orginal movies that are not based on books/computer games/comics/toys I have heard of because to do so would be foolish. Its an ignorant comment make really.

If studios only adapted things most people gave heard of they would of run out of movies to make years ago.

I was generally unimpressed with the teaser, to be honest.

Doesn't seem like they've made much progress from the last mocap movie.

Wow, totally not feeling that trailer. Maybe that's because the entire idea of the movie = meh.

I won't judge a movie based on the first trailer but so far I'm pretty unimpressed.

The trailer didn't get me excited for it. Though, my favorite part was that model boat. It looked close to real for a second or two.

I have to say the footage looks mighty impressive. The only scene that turned me off is right at the end, where Tintin is eavesdropping. His face doesn't look like the Herge artwork at ALL.

His character is the only one where you can't really get too crazy with it. He's a mid 20s ginger with a weird cowlick in the front of his head. If they made him look any more stylized it might not work.

Uncanny valley as ****, but since 99% of humanity and I can't animate any better, I'm gonna have to say it still looks pretty impressive.

That was a blah teaser. The art looked fine but its just not a compelling teaser.
They can't sell this on just the name. Most kids today probably never heard of Tintin.
But I'm sure the movie will be cool being that it has Jackson and Spielberg.

Moffat's name on this should intrigue the Dr Who crowd as well....

That image doesn't have any more uncanny valley than King Kong or Avatar, the only difference is that the human mind is used to seeing creatures such as a giant gorilla or blue people through motion capture and CGI, but stylized humans is something that needs a lot of adjustment. I honestly don't get where people are getting that it seems scary from. You won't find anyone complaining about Snowy, although Snowy IS entirely CGI.

Aside from the images, I do think the voice work is pretty accurate. Bell does sound like what you envision Tintin would, kind of a slightly higher pitched, boyish voice even by adult stanards.

I just saw the trailer. Not much to see, but I wasn't very impressed. The animation has the same uncanny valley problem that all of Zemeckis's animated movies have. From what little we were shown, the characters move slowly and without stylization, which clashes with the stylized character designs. It's still an animated film done with a live action director's aesthetics, and I have a feeling it's going to leave a lot of people asking "why didn't they just shoot it in live action?"
